Decided that it might be fun with a little more power and had the M7/ Venom system put on Maxi this afternoon. I am still geting used to it but have done about a half dozen runs . Words can't describe the kick in the back you get when it hits. The system is computer controlled from a engine safety stand point and I am using one of the entry level jets about 50hp and it is really something to experience. I am doing a photo shoot tomorrow with a new magazine comming out of England dealing exclusivly with the new mini only called Gomini. They are tooling around in a JCW cooper so maby a little side by side test might be in order.I have a few photos of the pieces as well as the new Borla race exhaust posted on my site tonight if you want to check them out. I will post more tomorrow, Randy

what size jets does it come with? do you think that with the computer you feel comfortable using a 75 or even a 100shot jet?
thanks

I had a problem with the check engine light comming on but i solved it. I found a nice close up photo of Anna Kournakova and i pasted it rite over the top, end of problem  Seriously tho that light problem can be fixed easily enough if you get what is commonly called a " simulator " but you need to dig into the auto peformance " underground " before you can find anyone that will admit to knowing about them.

jet sizes .025/.030/.035/.040/.045/.050/.055 I am using .040 at present. i have been told i can go up one or two more sizes with reasonable safe margin but as I drive the car a lot I prefer to stay here for the time being. It is very easy to change jets ( 5 min tops ) and the control panel will even give you warning if you are getting too close to the limit. All and all a lot safer system than i thought might be available.

Hi Guy's...

To answer the question regarding how much is enough and what is a safe level with the M7/venom system!
I think Maxmini's stock jet is the purple one and it will give a comfortable 50hp or so depending on whats been done to your engine (performance parts). In my car we are using the black jet wich would give about 75hp...now with this
large shoot of N2O we have added larger M7/python injectors taken the cc output from 340 to 410cc this extra buffer
of fuel adds to the cool running of the cylinder. To make the larger injectors function properly no EVC tuning is
necessary as the nitrous computer will overide the ECU and pulse the injectors when it feels a lean mode.
I hope this answered some of your questions.

And as always feel free to call with any questions you might have.

Why the vertical bottle placement? Don't most nitrous companies recommend an angle close to horizontal? I believe NOS specs a max angle of 20 degrees off horizontal.

I thought that might be a problem as well as I do not have the traditional space left in the trunk do to the audio install for a normal nitrous install. I was releived though when while at the Venom race shop where the system was installed I checked out their race cars and 2 out of the 3 had semi vertical placments as well. I was told that because the siphon tube runs down the back side of the bottle in the configuration I have that you still get full use of the contents of the bottle as long as there is some degree of tilt towards the rear. Mine has about the same tilt as the seat back to give you some idea of the true angle that they came up with. I will post more photos and thoughts after the photo shoot this morning, Randy

Can you give us some more specific details about the kit(maxmini or m7)?

i take it its a wet kit,but is it direct port because i dont see it going into the intake itself,it looks like there was some drilling involved. How do you see the kit lasting(obviously when used as intended) and have you had any problems on any test or customer cars so far?

Also would it be safe to run this kit on a jcw s,would it last?

Thanks guys!

So this is a dry setup? I guess that is the reason for the bigger injectors. What is telling the injectors to dump more fuel into the cylinders? Are you changing the fuel pressure in anyway?

I want to do Nitrous but I do not have the room to mount a bottle and carry Lugage and Work stuff all over the east coast!!!

Hi guy's

Yes the system is indeed a dry system kind of!!! Instead of complicated and even dangerous fuel line plumbing
out side of the stock fuel lines we are using the stock injectors or for higher hp our new high capacity injectors.
As far as a more powerfull fuel pump we are working on a new in tank replacement pump we will have this unit available after SEMA.
The Nitrous plumbing is very straight forward, the nitrous valve is attached to the manifold leading out of the
intercooler adding a super cooling effect to the intake air. As of today no added fuel pressure has been needed
I will try the silver valve next week........ Biiiiiiiig hp and I will let everyone know the deal.
Regarding what controlls the injectors, the M7/Venom computer will controll injectors and continually check
the O2 sensors to prevent any lean out for a very safe operation.

just spoke to the old one yesterday; he thinks by the end of November. New exhaust valves had to be ordered, along with rods, pistons, block blueprinting, head work, combustion chamber mods. He was slowed down by a busy racing season, now tapering off. Makes me want to add a few bolt-ons...like the Promini Turbo.
