With all the different coatings you used on this project how come you didn't have the headers ceramic coated. Isn't it better than the wrap?

No problem . I always thought my stock 04 zenons just had way to much Crome. These are perfect. Check my gallery for the old look.

Since day one my build has been for me and me only. I pickd everythng other then my license plate (my kids ) and did it the way "I" like.

As it should be

Thanks for the picture.

I have the old 04 Xexons and want some of these (or something similar). I assume that you are happy with the actual light output at night.

Your car is the dog's dangleys, by they way.

I heard that wrap is actually more effective!if you want the best then contact a company called ATP wrap. They do inconel heat sheilds that can take upto 3000*F temps!!!!

Interesting because I've read that coatings dissipate the heat quicker. Although the coating I did goes to 2,000 deg. I can't imagine the headers get anywhere close to that. I guess it depends which salesman your talking to. I'd be interested in seeing some data on some temps with and without the wrap. I couldn't find any on the ATP website.

That 2000 degree stuff is actually only 1500 degree continuous and can handle 2000 degrees in short spurts. I figured out why my 2000 degree lava rock crap decintigrated when I hooked up an exhaust gas temp gauge. My EGT's before any tuning would reach up to 1600 degrees continuous on the highway! Since the tuning started, and I droped the CAT off I might see 1400 in suprts at WOT under load. So I might try some wrap again.

Agreed LB, but high HP is not a necessity in a car that can hold its momentum, it just adds to the thrill of it.

I personall think a combineation would offer the best heat retention. Some good quality exhaust wrap and then some Inconel heat shields. Alternatively there are companies that can make you inconel headers!

You got to have the right coating applied in the right thickness(thicker than normal) to retain the heat in the pipe. I have ceramic coating applied to my turbo bike's exhaust header and after a run you can put your hand on the pipe without getting burned. The wraps absorb moisture , and the stuff I had fell apart.

Performance Coatings is good stuff. They are right by where I live, and the owner has a mini. That's what my headers and heat shield are coated with.

Question?

I've been wanting to loose some of the chrome on my car. I'm thinking of getting this grill and was wondering what you all think?

No just this. I have a Grillcraft lower mesh and think it will go good. My only worry is it turning yellow/green like a lot of other CF parts do.

If it yellows out you can always paint it.

and here I thought Sparky was decently fast... I've been in some quick stuff at the autoX and on the street, but this is just the definition of carefully orchestrated lunacy!

CF looks great but the areo pieces look good also, & they match the lower grill for less$$$. The mat black would complement your front end IMHO.... just a thought!

Sorry for the off topic post LB, but STEVE YOUR ALIVE!!! Check it out, I'm making progress. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...continued.html

The aero grilles are a good option, but the mesh design on theese looks cooler.
