Did I answer the question mate? If not, I will try again.....

But have you bot the newman? Why not? as it is quite similar in pricings with the NS1 as the Newman is from the UK (no worries bout Int shipping).

It is more safer to pick the Newman over anything else cos most o the Minis out there are running the Newman anyways but as I said one of the beauties of choosing the NS cam series is that is different then anything else out there

The Crower/NS cams are new, fresh and exciting! call me a romantic but having something different then the rest of the world really puts a smile on my face..and the Bonus is that the cams WORK!! No one has reported any thing bad about it....NO ONE...not even RMW...

BTW I am using the NS2 cam
That is just awesome Chase. I know you have gone through a lot to get this done.

Ps- I think the "mini" belt buckle adds about 1.6 hp as well

NS1/NS2 should be considered by everyone when opting for a cam....Reason I chose the NS1 was that I was after LOW/MID power..and oh boy it didnt disappoint

Chase

Are you running a pulley on your car? If so is it a 15% or higher.

Thanks

There’s no need for this lashing out to somehow justify your decision after the fact, be happy in your choice, move on, and turn it into an opportunity to advance your position, perform a before and after dyno to prove a Newman does whatever it’s purported to do. You will then have a Newman vs Schrick/Ultrik comparison to lord over us if it outperforms the NS1 vs Schrick. You've a good chance because ambient temps for your runs should be more than 15C less, go for it.
It's difficult to be happy with my choice when noone has the facts and time and money force a decision

I cannot do a comparison as I'm getting the BVH fitted at the same time as the newman

I have the ultrik on a JCW head

Also the story on the minitorque offer was to borrow a cam and send it back. It's not giving away a free cam if they are going to pay you with valuable data on top of returing it

It is a shame we have to send parts to the UK to get good solid truthful results and comparisons... isnt it!! MiniTorque are all racers.. with one goal, to Help others and to go faster ( ok.. That is two goals!!)!! If a part is a good thing they will say so!! If it is a rock, they will say that also!!

There is a cam combo on the way to 1320, and I feel the results will be about the best straight forward response. Too bad I could not have sent just a cam.. but this will work good also!! They are going to spend the money and try to run a comparison, for their site and members... wouldnt it have been good if WE could do the same with out all the Drama?? LOL

post number 385.

So, does this mean that your results will bad, flimsy, and dishonest, because you're going to perform them in the US?

Awsome. Did you do any before and after dyno's against you're stock cam or are your results from the rear?

Oh, and if you think Thumper isn't biased you haven't been keeping up on the Mini forum's . He's deep into one camp.

Thump, try not to post anything back, YES.

well he said theres a group of guys in europe doing caparison tests, or unless i read it wrong. its from my butt dyno, a working student doesn't have the luxury to go to a dyno anytime they can or attend any DE's as much.... but a dyno session will happen eventually. its not a placebo affect, this light of a triangle with a circular line with an arrow keeps blinking when i nail the gas now... never blinked that long before

I am doing the cam test cause I WANT to know what I want to run in MY MINI. As do many drivers..
I have the use of a dyno.. so it is just a time thing for me, well that is not correct, I did buy the cams...
Personally.. I really dont care how the results are going to play out!! I will choose the cam I will run.. and maybe I will change up later.. who knows?? The good thing is that there are Cams coming on the seen, and this is better for all of us..

LB.. as for ..."Oh, and if you think Thumper isn't biased you haven't been keeping up on the Mini forum's . He's deep into one camp.

LOL.. I am after Performance and the cost of that performance, and that is all. If some feels that I am shunning them over another product.. then shame on me. I dont care who makes it or WHO sells it, I will always be after a bigger bang for the BUCK! ( as most are...) The bad blood here is terrible!!
If a different cam comes out tomorrow, and it looks promising to me , I will be there testing it to see what happens, and why!! I am NOT a BRAND Name person.. I am a Performance person. This is backed up with all the different grinds and manufactures I have on my shelves after 45 years of racing and engine building... And you know what LB? They are all good for what they do... As all the MINI cams are.. It is the few of the Holiness Group that can be counted upon to try to discredit most anything from a different camp.. and you LB are one of "THOSE"

Show me your numbers.. befor and after your test or mods.. show me a third of what your badger others to show you... Duh... grow up!!

But hey, this is just me.................

Thumper, it's a never-ending battle if you try to please all the naysayers on this forum. Even if you send one to 1320 and they post the results, someone will find ways to discredit them as well... damn if you do, damn if you don't!!!

Just do what you need to do to satisfy your curiosity... not theirs...
