Ordered

I have watched this thread since the beginning, I was going to go DDM or local magnaflow, but this one looks like the right one for my MCSa.

I like the idea I can open it up for track days.

So, ordered today, I hope it will make it before my next full track day in June.

I will keep people up to date on my impressions.

Something to go with my future RMW R56 tune.

Did you order the entire set-up or just the catback? Hector's DP is flat-out awesome.

I think Rich is the only one who's gotten a completed system so far.

we had a video of it under load on my car, but we had a camera mounted on the back of the car. all you could hear past 10 mph was wind noise, so hector didn't post it up. i didn't come out that well. hopefully richi will post up a vid

Just some fly-by's would be fine. I'm just trying to get an idea of what it really sounds like before I buy the system.

catback only, maybe in the future I will do the DP and a big IC.

If I get this before our big lapping day at HPR June 28 and get it on before, I will try to get some videos under load. I may have to have someone go out to one of the corners with a good HD camera for drive-by shots.

Can't wait, this is my only new mod before a Jan R56 tune.

It's been raining almost all week and so far this weekend . But I managed to rush outside between rain clouds and install the system! (I am impatient). I finished just in time just before the rain and managed to get some sound clips of idle/rev outside.

I will be able to get videos of fly-bys when my buddy arrives later. This makes my old exhaust sound boring. Thanks once again Hector! A+ for easy install and quality. I took many pictures so you can see how tucked in the exhaust is so no worry about scraping or hitting the X-Brace underneath the car. I don't have one because it didn't fit with my old exhaust but I will by one whenever I have the chance since it fits perfectly now.

I currently have Exhaust Depot's bolt-on downpipe and catback. Trust me, it's well worth the buy!

Hector asked me in an email to say Hi to all on the boards. He is busy with family visiting in Orlando.

I sent him an email asking for an update on my cat-back. In progress waiting on welding, all pieces are done.

Can't wait, but I must.

I'm right behind you. I'm leaving Charlotte, NC about 5am to be in Orlando Saturday morning to get the downpipe installed and full system.

I've been debating between just installing the DP and keeping my JCW exhaust or change it all out.

I talked to Hector today and they're going to cut the JCW pipe up and put flanges on it so if I ever want to swap it out.... no problem.

Or my other thought is to install the DP, keep the JCW exhaust and just remove the resonator... whatcha all think?

Hopefully my intercooler shows up tomorrow.

Saturday I do the exhaust.

Next Saturday I go to Kentucky and have Jan tune the car.

WOOHOO!!!!!

Mark

you're going to be at hector's shop?? sweet, might see you there on saturday. i gotta stop by there.

if i was you, i would get hector's direct fit down pipe, and his cat back exhaust w/ removable resonator. so if you think its too loud without the resonator, you can always put it in and solve your problem.

or if you don't want to buy the exhaust, just cut out the resonator and install the downpipe.

if you want i can stay at the shop till you get there so you can here his exhaust on my JCW so you can decide what you want to do. I'm just getting his cat back

isn't it like 11 hours from NC to orlando?

Yep, I'll be there by 10am.

For the deal he's offering me, I can't pass it up. My plan (until I hear yours) is to do the whole exhaust and modify my JCW exhaust with flanges so if I don't like it, I can swap back.

Dude, I'll buy you lunch if you do that!!! That would be great. I'd love to hear it before I do it.

I hope not, I make it from Charlotte to Tampa in 7 hours. (of course, last time I got pulled at 102)

sweet! i'm always down for free lunch. i'll try to make it there at ten or eleven. theres a pizza place down the street from there that is really good.

i remember when i went to gatlinburg i think it took like 11 hours. and tampa is about an hour and a half from here so you should be fine. if you're leaving at five, how do you expect to be here at 10? lol

When I drive to Tampa all the time, Google says 8 hrs 59 m. I routinely make it in just over 7 hours.

Google says it takes 8 hrs 16 m to go from Charlotte to Orlando.

Based on that logic, if I can make a 9 hour trip in 7 hours, then surely I can make a 8 hour trip 6'ish.

I guess 5 hours is an hour to short... So I'll leave at 4, instead of 5am.

So, I have to ask, who has the ED new cat-back on your MINI? Only 1?

Who has one being shipped to you this week?

I will have to send a note to Hector and ask for an update.

Let me know what you think of the exhausts after you get them installed.
