From the testing that's been done, I'm not a true believer in aftermarket ICs anyway... though I think it depends a bit on driving style... peak efficiency vs. recovery time vs. boost loss, etc...

But yeah, in any case that should be less of a factor IF you have a w/m system that's actually working effectively...

FWIW, I recently bought a spare set of OEM boots, just to have for when mine become problematic...

I just looked my car up and down and your right...its not stealth...

I also just got done re-reading this entire thread...and what a mess...

Is NAM a community? or an opportunity to just bash and rave?

Im going to be using my own means to do some testing on this kit, and will actually post the results. I know this is the future tense, but believe me If i have numbers and results, im going to post them and share so that others may be informed rather than just told...

Just not me right now....

Devil's Own Water Meth Kit has been installed...waiting on some IC boots to do some good testing...

For now, the results are

Cheap, easy to install, used the stock headlight washer tank....
And judging by the butt-dyno, shes liking the meth... (does that make my car a druggie?)
Intake temps that used to rise high and take some time to drop are dropping faster... and Air/Fuel will likely need a nudge, but im not expecting by too much judging from the read out and data tracking. Then again, Im not even willing to see the progressive boost get into 100 percent while im behind the wheel when i have a boost leak... So much more to come and learn...

Good evening lads!

I know this thread is mainly "Devils Own" kits and what-not, but I just had an AEM Water/Meth kit put in this past week. I'm still trying to figure out how I should have the PSI gauges set for start and full.

When my friend installed it for me, he set them to 5 and 38 respectively. Not knowing any better, I basically left them as-is. But one thing I did notice is that for normal everyday driving, there isn't enough boost pressure to get the pump moving.

I was kinda bummed about that, because I had thought it was something that would be fairly active everyday. Didn't know I really had to lay on the gas to get it to start pumping. At any rate, I do like it when it comes on can totally feel that extra power.

But at the same time, I think I'm still learning about them too.

The span is too big. Set start at 5 and max at 11(depends on your max boost reading)

I had a feeling about that, but wasn't completely sure.
Thanks Big Howe, I'll make the adjustment tomorrow before I head off to work.

I'm also wondering if it makes sense to snag a boost gauge to install next to the tachometer?

Doesn't hurt to have more info. If you are going to be adding more parts you may want to evaluate your future needs. There are iPhone apps and other items that can look at all the OBD data and give you a lot of bang for the buck, e.g. Scangauge, PLX devices, Dynodash etc.

Does the AEM have a progressive controller?

I cant wait for my w/m system to ship to me here in far away Brunei...And since Brunei is hot all year long (avg 34 Celsius or 95 Fahrenheit), Im hoping the meth will help out my lil mini...

Im guessing the heat here is robbing me of some extra HP even with my GRS IC

What's the scale? PSI or something else? If PSI, Big Howe is correct. But sounds kinda weird having a controller with that much range... does it have it's own MAP sensor? If so, what's the bar rating on the sensor?

In general about 5 and about 11 psi will get you good results. In general, you only want it spraying when you're under significant boost anyway - it's not something that's going to be on most of the time - its benefit is under boost - so that's when you want to use the juice.
