Ok so i've readjusted, reclamped and even shimmed that plate with some washers to give even more clearance...one of those freaken clamps keeps coming loose. Not enough for an exhaust leak, but enough for things to shift again lol. I'm done with clamps, i'm welding it lol. But for now i'll just carry a 17mm socket and whatnot with me. I have to get a JCW bodykit installed on a fellow members car before I tackle any welding.

Or am I just not clamping these suckers down tight enough? I'm worried about pinching the tubing...or will the clamps not tighten enough to do that? Eventually i planned on welding everything anyways, but for now it'd be nice not to have to re-tighten things every other day.

Don't worry about crushing the tube with the clamp you will break the bolt in the clamp before you crush the tube
If you have access to a welder that will guarantee it won't come loose

I have a welder(pretty good one), and I just happen to have a tank of gas for welding stainless sitting right near it But I won't have time to really weld it nice like I want to for another week or so. I guess for now i'll just clamp the pipes down as strong as possible...hopefully not breaking the bolts lol.

Here is a pic of my Invidia

BTW - I took off the metal plate on the bottom of the car and I manipulated the rear hangars to get the clearance in the back

Took about 1 hour to install...
Using 2x4, Jack, and Jackstands.
getting the V-Band off is the most difficult part.

This thing not only looks good, it sounds awesome!

Thanks JCS Speed!

Any clearance issues? The close up looks like you have no problems with clearance.

I had no problem with clearance at all... it does however sit to the right about 1/4 - 1/2 inch. not too bad though.

It sounds better and better everyday!

Got mine on!! WOOHOO! Mine doesn't touch the rear bumper piece by like a 1/100th of an inch or something! HAHA. The smell isn't the greatest, but the sound is intoxicating!!

I'm talking to Exhaust Depot right now about a downpipe. My question that I have into them right now is, "will putting the dp on throw a CEL?" They have a couple of people right now with the "new" dp version that has two cats cut in half and welded together to see if that will prevent a CEL. Once I get an OK that it won't cause problemo's, I'm getting it fo sho!

Just ordered this exhaust yesterday for my r56. From what I have read, sounds like this exhaust rocks! Can anyone tell me what it sounds like in the cabin? Any drone. How does it compare to stock?

It's noticably louder than stock inside, but after a week you hardly notice it. Plus I usually have my music up, and don't hear it. By the way good choice it is really a sweet exhaust!

The only time it ever remotely sounds "loud" to me is after the pipes get real hot...say from a constant 6 hour drive on the highway. Nothing obnoxious at all though, sounds great.

Thanks for the feedback. I will post vids/pics soon after the install. I understand that the the install is quite simple and the fitment is very good. The Borla race fit/sounded great on my '05 Cooper S. Can't wait to try this one out.

i am extremely interested in this exhaust since pho and thumper have said that they loved their exhaust.

but to put dynomat? was this just a joke or fun remark or are you really going to do that? this is the only exhaust that i am considering since i used to come from the honda world and invidia made some sweet soothing exhausts. i want to make my car sleeper-like and a lot of my family and friends love how my mini is already but if i put a can on and it sounds like a can.... boy oh boy my mini will lose its reputation here in my community. hahaha

trust me. i have friends here who hates my car because its a "mini" but they love it because they know i have good taste. :thum bsup:

doesnt make sense huh?

::using my fathers computer, this is WdpIan::

It sounds nothing like a "Can"
The invidia sounds awesome! and its much deeper and very smooth.

But, sport mode on, windows up, 1500rpm-3000rpm there is a little drone inside the cabin.
now that its broken in, and ive been driving with it...I dont notice it as much anymore.

I dont want to give the wrong impression, I love this exhaust and Im VERY happy with it.
