Just a heads up......you can't google the University Place addy, it needs to be looked up as a Tacoma addy.

Here is a link to a google map

Thanks Clint for organizing this!

Custard, do you mind if I switch spots with you? Since tuning begins at 8am, and each car takes about 1.5hr each, I'm guessing it'll be my turn at around 12:30pm the way we're line up currently. But because I'm driving down from Vancouver, and I really don't want any unexpected delays to cause chaos for everyone, 2pm would really be a better time for me. Let me know!

Yes! I owned a 1980, purchased new when I was in college, and I ended up selling it 2 years ago when I moved. It was sitting in the garage for 6 years and I had plans to restore it someday. It had a bad case of rust in all the usual spots and since it spent the first 5 years in Hawaii, the salt air only accelerated the corrosion. Well, you know how plans change so I sold it to a VW crazy high school kid. It was a great car and at one point it had a Stage 3 Callaway turbo kit. FUN!

My screen name goes back to the early AOL days. "Scirocco" was taken so I had to get creative.

That is so cool.........!

I bought a '78 new and had it for 25 yrs before selling it to a local high schooler ( who subsequently trashed it........ ) to get my MCS! Lots of mods on my "rocco too.

I miss it to this day.

Cool, I kept mine for over 25 years too. I miss mine but then I think about the lack of 'rocco specific parts and it softens the blow a little. Still, it would've been nice to restore it. You rarely see any of the MK1s anymore.

Unless you go to some of the Sports car races at PIR. Last track day was with the Cascade Sports Car club at PIR and there were probably 8 MkI Scirocco's and Rabbits just practicing!

Thanks for getting me in there, Clint. As the PSMINI folks at our Dyno Day yesterday can attest, Scoop needs the magic touch.

From PSMINI again, I too feel the need for a bit of magic!

Tell me what it takes to firm up that "?" in the schedule at the top of this thread. I'm sure joe_r wants to know as well.

Looks like you need to cut-off anymore folks wanting a tune. Is Jan committed to doing 3 days of tunes?

Just talked to Jan, he will be here for Sunday but the dyno operator doesn't want to make it a full day, so newcomers will be put on the sunday list, but I would still check in and see if Jan's still tuning towards the end of any day. I am only scheduling seven cars per day however it is possible to get more than seven done if this checklist is taken car of.

1. over half the hole showing in the tensioner
2. new plugs , if running more than 17% use NGK -7s or 8s
3. 91 octane gas, Chevron is usually the best
4. make sure your boots on intercooler are not worn/torn/old
5. Make sure you have no check engine lights
6. make sure your exhaust is NOT leaking
7. clean air filter
8. enough oil and coolant
9. non slipping clutch
10. 380cc injectors if 19% or 15/3% or 15/2 or 17/2 etc
if you plan on running your car on the track it's always better to have 380cc injectors over the stockers

Keep checking in with the list on the first post. I make changes often.

Here's a preview of my sad state of affairs. Alta 15%, CAI, Sportone Exhaust, and all I got was a lousy T-shirt

Mark,
It will be interesting to see where you end up after Jan gets hold of your car. Definitely room for improvement on those A/F ratios.

I see Coll is signed up now huh? What's up Coll...not good enough to be at the top of the heap?!?!

Thanks, Clint. If I understand the scheduling correctly, I'm second up on Friday, June 20th. So if I'm at the SpeedFactory by 9:00 AM, I should be "early" for my appointment. Please correct me if this is wrong, otherwise I'll follow this plan. Can't wait ..........
