New M7 CAI!

Thw new M7 Cold Air Intake. Has anybody got any information about it ?

The new M7 Cold Air Intake has The velocity stack will smoothen out the large amount of air entering the intake tract, improving air flow which results in a more efficient intake system.

Doesn't look a thing like the Alta to me... Nice sealed box, foam filter extending into the cowl, looks good

So basically it's exactly the same as almost every other CAI except it has a bigger filter? Sweet lets all buy it

Looks like another steel box. It can't be a CAI if the box is made from metal. It just becomes a heat sink.

This makes a little more sense to me. I wonder what's inside .

Why are companies still making new CAI's.What more can you get? theres no secret power there gonna find. Time to start doing real things or stay on the porch.

It looks to me as if they replaced their old design with this one.
I imagine its a redesign like they did with their DFIC.

I'm all for a company that continuously tries to improve on their products. I'm not sure why everyone is so quick to bash Guess you guys don't like redesigns and improvement ?

....oh lemme guess, here comes the we want numbers or don't release anything answer.

it just looks like any other CAI out there, if anything it's closer to the DDM intake if you ask me...

i wonder why no one has used a plastic instead of metal on the CAI... i mean metal passes heat far faster than plastic would right?

For quite awhile we were distributing the DDM box and did not have a R-53 system of our own. We designed this one from the ground up with some minor improvements . Its not ground breaking, nor revolutionary but it is ours. We feel that having the largest filter in the business, the velocity stack connection and the fact that it extends completely into the cowl area are improvements which make our product worth taking a look at. For those of you looking for a quiet intake this may not be the one for you , you can hear every change of the gas pedal If these changes do not make sense to you or its not what you are looking for there are many others systems that may fit your needs better.

as someone in the market for a cai, i'll offer the following. i'm assuming all these cai's offer me essentially the same gains. that said, this m7, like most m7 products, has serious bling appeal. enough for me to spend $50 more than say helix? probably not for me....but probably will be worth it to some.

I was going to say, based on the picture I have seen the Helix looks like it sticks about the same distance into the cowl as this one.

The Helix goes up to the cowl wall and stops there . Ours extends thru the cowl a few inches and almost butts up against the mount for the windshield motor base.

How about a hand formed fiberglass one with a velocity stack connection and a custom UNI filter that opens to the cowl vent.

Remember, the cooler the better.

How about a stock one? Does anyone know at what point the std filter arrangement falls on its nose.

I've seen 248bhp 216whp on our dyno

The Dinan and JCW intakes are pretty much what you're describing - they provide better insulation than metal boxes, but they hold on to the heat once they get warm. The metal ones will transfer the heat out quickly.
