I agree! I say pick ur favorite brand! One type of CAI versus another won't make you lose a race! I do like the size of the M7 filter
I made my own CAI.

Here it is if you care to see-

I opened up the port on the bottom and cut out one on the top and used molded pieces to connect the box to the cold air spots. Its a little hard to see. I cut out used a piece of exhaust pipe in place of the old connector tube for my "velocity stack" and ordered a custom sized K&N. Works great!
Total cost: $50

You're the man!

Clint: great stuff, but my attention is drawn to your modification of the ram air duct from the front of the car--you got rid of the rubbish (water catch and noise suppressor). I did that very early on and have never suffered negative consequences. and it looks clean.

Yes I did, I cut it off and plastic welded a plastic piece in its place and wrapped it with black cloth tape
Does anybody sell that?

And like this, the box is not made of steel.

I imagine its a redesign like they did with their DFIC.

I'm all for a company that continuously tries to improve on their products. I'm not sure why everyone is so quick to bash Guess you guys don't like redesigns and improvement ?

....oh lemme guess, here comes the we want numbers or don't release anything answer.
Cold air intakes don't need to be improved any more. The same old crap keeps getting redesigned, so we can spend another $300 on something we think is going to give us a bit more oompf.

You are obviously not familiar with some of the On-Whorizon products:

Oh doodoo! Please tell me those scoops are available for beta testing. And priced accordingly--under $400? Gimme, gimme, gimme.
I'm a fanboy already! Shyte. Those On-Whorizon guys are bleeding at the cutting edge. All I can say is stand back!

thanks,

Well, I checked out the On *****-izon product thread, and although they led with an innovative CAI, I can see that there's more up the sleeves of their design team. Gee, the stream of products looks like a sewer, I mean, a pure, font of genius. Are you guys manufacturing it all in house? You mention Pakistani suppliers, but are they Asian, or Indo-Chinese? My geography is not so good having been edumacated in Australia.
And remember, any time is a good time to laugh...

We don't own manufacturing facilities. We choose to let those with the proper experience manufacture the parts for us. Our Pakistani suppliers come from the northern regions of the country and in fact could be considered more Afghani than Pakistani. We do however still insist that all assembly be performed by small children from diverse islands of the Pacific and Indian oceans. We find that their small hands are much more adept at attaching our logo on top of previous logos.

I went through the whole thread...everything seems to be a joke???
How dare you, sir, to make light of our products? If you don't like them, don't buy them. But calling them a joke is a little harsh and uncalled for.
