Drivetrain Big Bore or 2.0 conversion?
I agree stock for stock an evo has a slight advantage because of it's power, but the AWD just makes the car understeer in the corners, it doesn't matter how much power they have. Maybe it's just we don't have any good drivers out here, but out of the 7-8 Evo's and STI's I saw at our last track session, none of them were really that impressive
. As a beginner I was getting comparable lap times in my car. Hell, some of them were actually slowing me down (Hence my move to Intermediate this time). We'll see I guess
.I definitely agree with driver skill, Danny passed an Ariel Atom at Streets multiple times, it's all about the driver.
you can do some serious stuff to them now! some guys are dropping VAG 1.8T motors in the back! thats 350bhp with bolt ons and 500bhp if you really wanted to push it! lol
you might beable to get some sponorship if you did try it though.
OR how about a twin engined one????? come on tuls how cool would it be to have the FIRST TWIN ENGINE, 1000bhp MINI?????? then you could four wheel slide out of corners!

Chris.
The results here say it all, 800hp evos and scoobys and a lotus comes in 2 or 3rd in most events.
Steve is a very very good driver though and we did map the car. ( hopefully Steve is going to be a good instructor as well)

Now twin engines would be a great thing to see.
And for all of you spectators who are non-believers...
HPAMotorspots.com did an Audi TT with twin 3.2s. It was rediculous, I am going to try and find the content, but it has been since 04' if I remember correctly.

I have moved on from the R8 board with it now
Got a RS4 C/Vert in yesterday
I just get to drive them (deliver them to Automotive journalists )
Well in just a few months you will be able to drive a twin turbo RWD.....................135i.
agree with you on the Lotus mate.

heres some info on Norris Designs car http://www.norrisdesigns.com/demo9.asp
and here are some vids http://www.norrisdesigns.com/videos-evo9.asp
thanks Chris.
PS. it makes you think that these guys are getting the massive GT42RS (the 1000bhp turbo) spooled by 5K yet a MINI engine takes till past that to spool a 2871!

also there was a company doing a similar thing to MK2 golfs. pretty nuts as they weigh about half as much as the newer golfs! lol
it would be nuts to see a twin engined mini. come on guys how can we get Tuls to do it??????? lol

Chris.
how cool would it be to say 'my car, that can fit a dog in the back and four adults, has more power than a lambo'??? lol
Chris.
Stroker did happen but there are other simpler options these days.
It's less labor cost to simply do a pulley reduction, some exhaust and RMW custom tune for a very usable increase in power that requires much less downtime.
