Hey Fatherdeth, I'll have it on my site for sale ASAP. working out the details with IE today.
So will this be an add on to the cat back purchase, or will we just have an option of which tip we want with the system? What will the price be for the whole system with the new tip? (Or is that yet to be determined?)

It will be the standard tip on all IE Catbacks and for those with the IE Catback you will be able to buy the tip as a stand alone part. IE is working on the new numbers. As soon as they are ready to ship I'll post an order button on my site and then link it here too.
This looks very nice, definately what I was expecting. I only have one worry... are we going to be seeing light through either side of the tip, IE, an oval loop tacked onto the round pipe, or is there going to be filler between the pipe and the outer edges of the tip?
I just ask because that is one of the first things that I notice when looking at a vehicles exhaust. It makes it look cheap an not well designed/thought through when you can see light shining where light shouldn't be!
Thank you so much for updating with a picture! Again, I am extremely excited. Let us know as soon as we can purchase!

^^^ Chase, I don't think there will be day light, what you see above is it. Not sure I really understand the question, but take a 2nd look at the pics I hope to have pics of it installed on a MINI by Friday night.
Hey Dustin, what he means is, if you were to kneel down and look directly at this tip installed on a car, would you be able to see straight through either side of the tip. Basically, is this a 2.75 inch round pipe, with say a 4 inch oval tip welded right onto it, causing a gap on the sides. His concern is it will look cheap. From what I can see, it looks fully welded on. I doubt that this is the case, or there wouldn't be a clean exit for the exhaust. Even if it isn't, not too many people are gonna get that low to look. I can't wait to see pics !!!!!
1) when looking straight into the tip at the interior walls, the whole thing actually tapers from the oval shape down to the circular shape of the exhaust pipe.
or
2) The oval portion of the tip is tacked onto the round portion of the pipe (where oval meets circle) where if you were to take a knee, (or practically lay down on the ground!) you would be able to see through either side of the tip, with the circular pipe in the middle.
A poor example of the second scenario would be this:

While I realize that the above "tip" is actually part of the bumper, you get the idea of being able to see daylight through it, revealing that this tip is poorly designed show, and not completely "sealed" from round exhaust pipe, to the end of the tip.
I hope you can kind of see what I was saying before. I apologize for my poor explanatory skills!
If you still don't see what I am asking about, just do me a favor and get a picture of the installed tip at eye level!

Thanks again, Dustin
Thanks again, Dustin
I think I already can imagine what this thing will look like on a MINI. Try and find a search for a car with an Alta exhaust sporting the oval tip and you might get an idea of what this will look like. As far as everybody who isn't sure about this tip. I assure you it will look good on the car without even having seen this particular one. I've seen other MINIs with similar tips, and they don't look bad at all. If it were round, it might not look the greatest, but oval will fit the appearance of the car greatly.
The problem with this big single oval tip is looking more like the rice big fart cans or almost truck size tip already and no longer euro looking which the Mini should be.

Yes we are still working on it, the local CA customer couldn't make it last week but is trying to get in there this week. I'd bet it looks close to the pic above of the R56. I'm discovering that getting anything done in this biz is like herding cats.
But everyone is doing all they can.

Also, the original Mini Coopers had one single tip coming out of the middle. If you have a big round tip coming out the back with the muffler being seen, then call it ricey looking. The upgraded tip is oval and very classy looking. This new IE tip is far from ricey. No offense, but it sounds like you need to go back and do your homework.
Thanks Dr. Phil. This is what I expected it to look like. This picture also reminds me of why I don't like the R56 exhaust. I hate that muffler being seen so close to the bumper.
Oops !! Sorry Dr. Phil, I just looked staright at the exhaust and nothing else!! Well, hey you all, at least he's got good taste in tires !!
