Kind of late to the IE party but I just installed this exhaust with a SuperSprint Header/performance metallic cat this past week. My exhaust was purchased used and was an '05/'06 exhaust that had been modified to fit an '04 with a custom header/cat that I had to modify back for my '05. Fitment was not great but some of this can be attributed to the customization I had to reverse and was easily worked around. I am pretty pleased overall with this exhaust- I like the passenger side/single muffler approach, it sounds great, it weighs less than OE, and used only cost a little more than a one ball mod.

Been wanting to buy one of these for a while, still B/O'd, finally (after melting the rear fascia during a track week-end from a muffler split) found a similar muffler - combined with a resonator from the same company, and some custon piping from a local shop, I'm good to go for a while. Sounds perfect to my ears - exactly what I wanted my MINI to sound like - and though it could be a little prettier (as I said to the installer) nobody's really gonna see it unless the car's rolled over .

FWIW: just under $200 spent, all new parts, and including labor, taxes, shipping, etc... But I, too, still have to do something for a tip.

Yes, but I'd still call or email first . The website does say (now) "This item is back in stock as of 8/18/2010". When I couldn't wait any longer I started procuring parts, thus I stopped checking IE's site - thinking that when I was 'promised' in an email reply from them (8/02) that somebody would contact me, they would - oh, well. Still plan on getting one in the future, just that future is much further away now . Bummer when someone's got money and the desire (heck, the NEED) to buy a product and you can't buy it (after 3+ months of waiting) ...

The set-up I've got now is basically the same, just steel instead of s/s - not the prettiest (kind of a "R&D" set-up), but it works and sounds great:

Yup, looks the same. Good job. Don't worry, even the IE isn't the prettiest exhaust.

I ordered 2 IE's on Monday over the phone with Jeff, I haven't heard yet though when they are shipping. One is for my 04 MCS with the aero kit, and one is for my wife's 07 MCS Convertible. TO make the tips nice, I have ordered a Flowmaster tip, the model is 15369. It is very short in length and should fit with a bend. I will post pictures after the exhaust arrives. I already have the tips, they look nice.

I know this thread is old but can anyone that has this cat-back do me a big favor and post a current exhaust clip? There's a couple on YouTube but none that I found very helpful. I'm trying to gauge the amount of pop and burble compared to stock. Thanks in advance!

Here is an IE on my wife's 2007 1st Gen MCSc. I just went out and took the video for you. This is a custom install using a different exhaust tip than what comes with the IE. It is the same setup I have on my 2004 MCS and they both sound the same.

Great sound. It got my wife's attention so I told her I'm going to make it my ring tone
