Gintani Tuned...

Well I finally pulled the trigger on getting the Gintani after-cooler with integrated intake manifold.

This thing really looks trick! After reading all the intercooling threads and water injection, I decided to go this direction. I like the idea of getting rid of the intake horns. It's a direct route from the supercharger to the cylinder head. Also after talking to Randy Webb about the system I just had to get one!

While the car is there it's also being fitted with a custom Gintani Head, header and 3" exhuast. I didn't realize how much in-house work they do there. They have a bunch of after-cooler kits ready for install.

When everything is done they're also going to give me a custom dyno tune. Gintani has live software to emulate the ECU I can't wait until everything is done and get to take her out on the track and burn it up!

And yea Paul, If you find me a drag strip close to VA Beach I'll make a pass to get some times for you FYI, this car is being set-up for the road racing though not the quater mile.

I'll have more pics to follow as things get wrapped up!

my buddy's wife waited tables there...not sure if she still works there but getting POUNDS of fresh, free steamed seafood is a nice bonus.

Gintani looks like nice stuff. I'd love to have a local installer for the big package

mmm...sea food It's actually called "HK on the bay" or somthing like that, Not nealy as cool as the cafe' but still worx for me

Actually I had my mini shipped out to CA...Gintani did all the logistics for me, I just had to meet the driver at Big Carlies (the truck stop) Can't really beat it! For quality assurance they prefer to do the installs in-house. I can respect that.

Beautiful finish on that aftercooler! I can't wait to see how that thing looks underhood installed. Definitely very anxious to learn more about this system.

looks like my job is done here on NAM, off to another forum of dyno racers

On a serious note, nice choice, I would love to see one in the flesh because i'm sure pictures doesnt do it justice.

Enjoy your new project and I cant wait to see all the results espically the road racing bit as we're just heading down that route now

The emulator completely replaces the ECU, but only during the tuning process. This lets them adjust the emulator settings in real-time while they're testing the car, so they can try a wide variety of settings without having to re-flash the ECU every time they want to change something.

Once they find the settings that work best, they flash the ECU with those settings, disconnect the emulator from the car, re-connect the ECU, and they're done.

I used to drag race every weekend when I was in high school. In shop class we had a dragster that we maintained. For my senior project i built a blown 350. That was a couple years ago though and I never launched a stick, so that will be interesting!

Thanks Scott, I couldn't of said it better myself

I remember Gintani telling me that they have access to way more tables then any other tuning process.

This is going to be amazing to see when it is finished. I can't believe someone is actually going all Gintani. This will be sick.

Well, nothing yet. As mine will be one of the first production kit. Other kits were used in the past for proto-types. Since then things have been refined for the production line.

Should be interesting. 240 whp would be really cool! With the head and tuning were looking at raising the rev's up to 8, now I'm not going to be hanging out at 8k, but it would be nice on the track.

They offered to build me a turbo kit and another type of charger, but for now I want to stay with the m-45

Thanks everyone for looking

I might be getting rid of my m7 extreme hood scoop. I don't even have it back from paint yet. I probably stick it on there and see if I like the way it looks.

All other parts I was able to sell to local club owners...(Thanks guys )
