As long as I stay off snow covered roads with my track tires on, I should be fine.

Although those Bilsteins in the GP2 look interesting It's not a "mod" if its MINI parts, right

I get to try out the R888s next month. Have them all mount up and ready to go...boy are they really big. They barely fit in the back of my MINI...Can I talk anyone else in to going to WGI on the 10th and 11th?

You could talk me into going but I'd have nothing to drive..

And I wasn't on track tires, just extreme summer tires with a fair bit of camber!

That'd be my track tires...worn out Z1s

No close friends you could share a ride with? Or, rent a Vette???!!! So, what is happening with your new ride? Your friend OK now?

BTW - I have a friend of our Fasttruck friend as an instructor next month. I am looking at stepping up my game Hope to learn a lot. Seems as though my braking could be improved. So much to learn.

Just registered for Lime Rock with SCDA on Monday, July 1st. Would love some MINI company. Can you think of a better way to start off that holiday week? I can't!

Don't really need brakes at Lime Rock except for Turn #1! It would be great to see you on track again!

My car just made it to the islands. It is getting 13 mpg with little or no highway!

Good thing that a tank of gas last about 3-4 weeks.

Looks like you guys are starting off your track season. Wish I was there.

If everything works out, perhaps a temperory comeback next year. Looking to get a track capable car with good mileage. Have too big of a carbon footprint right now so looking to reduce that.

Anyone use a VW TDI on the track? New one is coming out but at 140 hp, it is not going to be quick.

Whoever has hacked into slinger's NAM account, we can tell! Being concerned about his carbon footprint gave it away!

Yes carbon concerned but buying offset credits.

I think it was the green vegan police.

So what do all you guys think of the VW Golf TDI?? A green track machine that is appropriate for long drives.

Run it on Bio-diesel...that will really reduce the carbon footprint

We had a couple of TDIs that came to autoX last year. They must have figured out how to up the Hp by running them rich. The black smoke would cover the field when they ran.

BTW - tried to install the Wilwoods but ran into a snag with the SS brake lines. I couldn't figure out how to get them threaded onto the stock metal brake lines. I think I am being overly cautious, but will check with Todd. Doesn't matter right now as it is going in for a battery check - 1-1/2 year old and it is dead.

Got replacement SS brake lines. Todd is great and very responsive to questions. The Wilwoods will go in by Saturday for the upcoming autoX on Sunday. Want to test them and the Toyos out before WGI the week after. Got the Poly H pads. More cold grip than the B and look pretty linear. They should stand Smokey on his nose.

I wish I could make it, VV. I was up there today and the MINI was running great. I'm going to LRP on 6/15, too. That first week in July is a 3-day work week** and taking Monday will be a problem for me right now.

** A "Work Week" is what those of us who are not retired or semi-retired face every Monday morning. I'm sure you and Slinger remember.

Work I know all about it.
You picked a great day to be there. Glad to hear your MINI is ("was"??? hope it still "is") running great. What was the issue with it?

Boost control sensor. If you ever get a limp mode light, and no codes, that is one thing to look at.

Be careful not to hurt yourself putting on your bathing suit and flip-flops.
