SCDA HPDE Schedule
I am THERE. Signed up for Sat and Sun WGI with TM...I'm with S-driver. My tires have seen 5 days plus a bunch of autox. They are almost to the wear bars.
Speaking of tires...Dunlop is running an $80 rebate from now until the first week in April...I see a set of Z1's going on the Enkei's. Going to finish off the Yoko AD08s on the S-lights (S-heavies
) for now. That should serve me well with the novice group at TM...maybe slow me down a bit or should I say I don't need to be going any faster than I am now
.. As for brakes...it is going to the stock brakes for now (no BBKs - got to watch my budget
). The Carbo XP10s worked really well until they got half done. For that I am going to add some cooling and I am going to make up some pad heat shields out of stainless steel.

Would like to do 8 hours of track but that would require I take an extra day off.
It's funny really......even tho 8 hours are available, you really only go out about 4-6 times. Or at least that's what I've found since I've been doing these OT events. There's no need to rush out on track with all that time, no run groups to pay atention too. Just go out when you like and have some fun. Traffic is never ever a problem with these clubs at WGI.
You spend a good amount of time in OT bs'ing with other drivers and that is fun as well.... ya know, like minded individuals and all that.
And then what's next Slinger & VV?? Getting into G52 where it's even more relaxing.
Limited participants and no rules other than no contesting corners. Do anything dumb and your out as well as the guy/people who recommended you. And pretty reasonable pricing if I do say so myself considering the amount of track time your getting over two days.
So with TM's (5 dates) and G52 (3 dates) you have ample track time available at WG to pick from. So get into TM's open track and let them get to know you.....
It's not about having a super fast car with these guy's, just about ediquette. Remember -- Gbuff does all this with an MC and has a blast.

I have done OT a few times with Skip in Advanced Racing School and COMSCC. Skip runs about 5 hours over the day. Cannot even lift my hands after so much track time. Skip runs only 12 -16 cars so no traffic.
Not sure what is next. All depends on how much time off I can get.

Found this old vidio on youtube of a mini going around WGI:

you might want to watch it, the guy is pretty good and has a nicely prepared car.
It was posted by someone who goes by ? S-Driver ? Oh that's you
Well, nice driving. I have already learned something from your post that I am going to try.
Here's some vintage footage for you:

And one mean Porsche. Watch the tail on the black car when he is in the corners. That car doesn't handle well.

Well, I may be rooming with Gary but I'm waiting for him to actually sign up. He's going but just has some stuff going on right now. I normally stay at The Seneca tho...
May end up at The Falls...
Schao has officially signed up for Friday & Saturday......

They go for about $80/night ...vs $100/night at the Falls.
Seneca has the history behind it and everyone likes to go there for dinner/drinks, then you can just walk back to the room.

I am still having lots of issues with the suspension and CVs at this time. I am installing the ASTs next week and then the CVs in a couple of weeks.
At that time, I will register for TM. Just a few too many issues to be able to go right now w/o knowing that the issues have been addressed.

I will probably stay with my sister in Ithaca...
And that is the best he could do is chase you around the track...You and your Mini must be really good
I still thought it was a good video to watch. He seems to hold a good line throught the turns, some which I think I do well at in some turns but others I am struggling with. Hope TM can help me with those. I am there to learn and have fun

ASTs are in. Wow, what a difference!
Just a couple of days to adjust the ride height then off to the alignment shop. And they know me far too well; I am starting to know the names of their children!

OK, after two days of driving and adjusting the ride height, I am now running roughly 24.5" on the front and on the rear.
That would make me roughly 1" lower on the front and just under 1.5 " lower on the rear. This is not a math error here since I know you have IE camber plates up front which makes you +.25" higher there.
I may adjust the rears up +.25" eventually as it does look a little low but nothing rubs. Going to the alignment shop tomorrow to visit my "pals". I think I will be going with -2 degree front and -1.4 degrees rear camber, with zero toe.
Eddie, thanks for the reference

Ya, sign up already
Hey all, just thought I’d check in. I’m dying to do some track days but between having issues with the mini (which all seem to be fixed as of now) and prior engagements, I have been slammed. My calendar is so full.
When things calm down, I will be sure to look ya’ll up and go do some track days. I’m swapping my 17" OZ’s on the track for my 18” OZ’s on the street. With the coil overs, the ride is rougher so I’m going with 17’s on the street.
When I do that, I’ll have a set of track tires that are still in great condition if anyone’s interested. I’ll be posting them on the forum for sale soon.
Cya’ll soon.
Mark

OC, glad you are back. But unfortunately you sound a little too busy to join us at the track soon.
I am having loads of trouble with my car from poorly designed coilovers which I have finally swapped out. Now to fix my CV problems and I will be ready to go.
Just check in to this section where we hang out to see if a date/time matches you schedule and come up to run with us. You can kind of tell, we do have a whole lot of fun at the track.
