Griot's Garage Codes?
I was gonna say "premie" but don't know how to spell it. Panda, because I read something in the paper this morning about a baby panda and that's what came to my mind. Okay, I can believe "placed."
thanks, those are just some cheepo ASA's. might lower it 1inch if the
215/45/17's make the car look too 4x4-like. im currently running
205/50/17's and they look alright for a wagon, but a little lowering will
make it look probably much nicer.
that and a front lip spoiler... and that's about all im going to do on the
legacy.
yah, baby panda's are cool.

ok, so i got home, pulled out my mop mitt thingie and just did a
air wash (shampoo app simulation) to see how easy it would be to
control the mop head over the car.
first problem... the mop head swivel is too loose... hard to control.
2nd problem... the mop head hinge is also too loose... almost out of control.
this causes the mop head to flip itself over and also rotate by itself
making it quite hard to control the head from the pole.
i drilled and attached 2 screws. first to lock the swivel. 2nd to
limit the amount of the hinge to flip so that it will never flip more
than 45 degrees allowing the wash mitt to stay level with the car.
now, i think i can control this mop head.
will give it a shot over
the weekend.

i tried the mop mitt thingie today. not bad. the mitt could be a little
bigger so it could hold more shampoo, but considering it's ony one-sided
perhaps this is their limit.
anyway, it's very easy to use, no issues getting around mirrors,
curved bumper areas, etc.
...BUT, you may need to modify the hinge and swivel area like mine so
that it doesn't go flip floppin' all over the place.
lol

when washing the mop mitt, make sure you wash it separately... i just
got done pulling like 12 hooks from my DP platinum towels that got caught
up in the wash cycle. :impatient
the mop mitt has velcro to
wrap and hold the mop head.

Is it me, or does anyone else find that Griots operates on a different customer service ethic than everyone else? I ordered a few things about 10 days ago, confirmed they were in stock, yet they still have not shipped. My calls and emails are always answered by someone who must have put some sour milk on their Wheaties. I know others have mentioned curt emails and specific problems with Griots here and there, but so far, my two experiences with them have been entirely lackluster, to put it nicely.
yep, just you. i have great customer support from them and my parts are received on time. some accessories products like floormatts, garage tiles,
my BuffloII driving shoes are not shipped from their warehouse, but from
3rd party. those will usually take 10-14weeks to get.
ive also returned products and they have been very courteous about it.
otherwise, you would be hearing a lot of negative from me cause i am not
shy to express experience with stores and products.

(I know, I know...)
It was supposed to be shipped today. But, so far I haven't heard anything. Well... I'll just show up with a filthy car and say "this is what Groit's did for me."
No, but apparently they send letters...
I just got a letter from Griot's dated July 27th regarding an order I placed for the bucket in mid June. After I placed the order, I got an email saying the bucket wasn't available, so I called and cancelled. I also sent a follow-up email confirming the cancellation on June 25th. However, this letter says my bucket is on the way. This after I already bought two 5-gallon jugs and a pair of Grit Guards for a total of $24. No doubt I'll be hit with a restocking fee!

Well you have the cancellation...so really they can't hit you with the fee, and they should pay the return shipping as well.
I find Griot's is pretty good about that sort of thing; I really just think there's some sort of delay between their ordering center and fulfillment.

I was up at Griot's today getting my birthday present from my Mom: the Griot's Random Orbital. What fabulous customer service. The young man who helped me had his own mobile detailing business and was starting college in the fall. A wealth of knowledge, and I learned a lot. Being in the store itself and looking at the samples of Griot's products helped me see that they do have QUALITY. The place was packed with local die-hards from whom I heard nothing but raves when I chatted with them.
Anyway, I asked about the new wash bucket, and it won't necessarily be ready by 15 August. Production/design issues. Dang.
Time to go explore all my new goodies....

She is a nice Mom for sure. After 62 years of marriage to my car obsessed Dad, she understands my inherited genes.
By the way, the Griot RO worked like a charm. 4 hours later (still not done with the interior), and MINI is slick as sn.. Got the RO kit and bunch of other goodies. Wish I could have had the bug spray for the road trip

Sounds like Groit's and MINI are a perfect pair. Mini couldn't figure out how to make a storage door not rattle and groits had design issues with a wash bucket??? What, they couldn't figure out a way to get water in it???

oh?
