Griot's Garage Codes?
Well, because it was in the catalog --- with no warning that it didn't actually exist yet --- I ordered it and whole bunch of stuff I had nowhere else to put but IN the bucket. Well, of course, they send all the other stuff and then inform me the bucket will ship on August 1. Well, now it's August 2 and the bucket still don't exist. I just don't like to be misled. While I can inderstand why the catalog may not have been accurate, due to publishing lead times, why didn't the website advise me of the status when I clicked on the "add to cart" button?

I'd also be frustrated. I know Richard has a rep in car circles around here for being incredibly conscientious and a perfectionist, so I'm guessing this will be the BUCKET TO BEAT ALL BUCKETS
i have to say that i did complain about their original yellow washbucket
last year where the base of the bucket cracked
due to inadequate
plastic thickness.
Whenever you gently cleaned your mitt over the grill to remove grit the
grill support pushed down on the base of the bucket ultimately cracking
the thin plastic. I got a replacement and added support screws for the
grill on the sides. No more issues.
I sent them pictures and explanation of what i did. They said they'll
pass it onto their marketing and R&D team.
i hope they didn't make the same mistake...

did Griot's just get these in? G16's in black/smoked combo?

have to note that the Monaco's that i got last month from my son
is a bit too stiff...it started hurting my feet while driving long hours...
ive downgrade those to my weekend casual shoes until they
soften up a little more. it's not that they are not broken in...the way
it is assembled makes the shoes not bend easily.
im back on my G16's which continues to provide comfort.
son got me those last year.

The letter I got saying my bucket was on its way was (obviously) a false alarm. In fact, when I called about it, Griot's didn't know why the letter was sent. But at least it's cleared up now. And I have to admit, I LOVE the leather cleaning spray and the leather scent spray! Plus, their advice on convertible top cleaning was right on; mine is now spotless.
Wow, those shoes look great. I got a pair of the mulholland II's and love them! Not the best for standing around in, but great for walking around...and best for driving!
With the interior sent I found it was best to spay on some cotton ***** and put them i a zip lock baggie. The baggie allows me to adjust the sent by either opening it up more or closing it up if it is to strong. Or, if it starts to smell like S&M, then I just take it out

scurves- cool, you got the new mulhollands, huh? i actually motored
that hwy every weekend when i live out there in LA. it's in the santa
monica canyons. it's a fun road, but there are a couple of other roads in
that canyon that are super fun to carve.
i think im going to get those black/smoke G16's next time around!
i use the LeatherCare spray and it smells very good. my G smells like a new
car each time.

Haha, I know what you mean. WA is the same way. I know when I want to go for a drive because I subconsiouly put the Piloti's on.
Yeah I got the Mulhollands, I have a wider foot and Griots told me they were a bit wider. So, I listen. I still want the prototipos, but i am worried about width.

once you feel the difference in these piloti's there's no turning back. wearing regular shoes for driving is like using a
fork to eat soup.
Haha, good call. Now I am thinking about the gloves too...i shouldnt have looked up the spellings for piloti's, griots has sucked me back in. Do i want crochet back or Jim Clark Gloves?

yah, griots got some nice accessories. also check out www.autosportcatalog.com as they too have similar stuff online.i use Sparco mechanic's gloves as driving gloves. it is small like the
Mechanix gloves and is made partially out of suede. it grips well but
not super grippy like normal mechanic's gloves which is a good thing.
not hot to wear in the summer either as it breaths fairly well.
My wife makes her living as a leather importer (more specifically, she owns and runs a high-end handbag line). As such, we go on buying trips twice a year to Italy for the world's largest leather show, so I kinda know where you are coming from! Trust me, the spray isn't that strong
Haven't tried it in a small vehicle such as the Mini yet, but a single squirt under the two front seats of the van once a week seems to work pretty well. Same in the Bimmer wagon. As Ken mentioned, the van has kept that "new car smell" a lot longer than any previous car I've owned.
Well, all the S&M conventions I've ever attended smell more like... never mind.

anyone have the wall mount fire extinguishers with the automatic
dispensing thingie?
im thinking about getting 2 of those in the coming weeks for my garage.
do you think 6lbs of powder is enough to stop the infamous MINI electical
fires?
(kinda doubt it...)
im going to be installing a disconnect switch on the battery this Fall
when i swap out the battery with my Optima Yellow.

Sorry Ken, I was just trying to get a chance to grab my Griots handbook and see which was which. I guess it would work, and it looks cool. Cheaper than a new house, alittle extra insurance is always nice. I just got the chrome unit for my car for the same reason
