Should it stay or should it go now? Please help me detailing expert peeps
I am in a detailing rut, my waxing has waned. The Mini has been tended to with Klasse, don't get me wrong, he's not wretchedly neglected, but I am frustrated with it as the sealant is just no good to apply by hand and I know there are probably better options for me then just the AIO. Adding to the devil in my detailing is the fact that our combined supplies are in a terrible disarray and I am flummoxed about what to keep. I am totally lost as to what product is good, what might be too old, overwhelmed will it all and scared at what else might yet be inside unopened-since-the-move-in boxes
My inclination is to ditch it all and start out fresh, but I just can't waste the money (and the new supplies would not be cheap it seems). I have spent time mulling over all the products everyone has been posting about, bugging poor OctaneGuy in PMs, tormenting the SO with visions of me wielding a PC, and peering at intimidating detailing threads wondering if I am even remotely up to the task anyway - gloss, depth, multilayers, eep! My level is more like shiny good, scratches bad and the array of product choices and intricate rituals has left me overawed
So here are a few pics of my sad disheveled detailing supplies, let me know what you think is worth keeping, should be ditched and why, and if you have any suggested must haves please let me know.
Thanks NAM detailing gurus!

not all of it's bad. keep the good stuff and toss the rest.
i would put it in a box and put FREE on it
and put it next to your garbage on trash day.
in fact, that's wat im doing to rid my non-OTBWD crap
this week to make room for more new stuff.

I say if you haven't used it in 12mos then toss it, you probably won't.
Unless it is a specialty thing that you only use for specific issue (damage for example).
If you look at it and it looks like it's separated, then toss it.
I've been keeping all of my stuff in my laundry room right off the garage because I worry that the temp fluctuations in the garage has ruined stuff. It seems to stay fresher in the climate controlled house.

Awwww eVal, you haven't been bugging me!
I say keep the Meguiar's stuff and toss the rest.

Seriously though, keep #34 and #40--these are excellent in your tool kit
Keep the Gold Class Metal Polish, dump the wheel cleaner. Keep the Quik Detailer and maybe toss the Endurance. The only Endurance I like and recommend is the High Gloss.
Looks like you got Deep Crystal Step 2 (covered in yellow tape on the right)
You can toss this too.

Yeah, I thought I'd leave that on for flavor

It seems that we each had a sordid assortment of stuff that when combined is now just OOC.
Thanks for the feedback guys - I knew you'd tell me what Meg stuff to keep OG
Any of you famililar with the 3M hand glaze or the other polishes? It would be great if one of them was good enough to keep and use in lieu of having to buy new stuff like the Meg M80... Some of this was pretty expensive (the P21S, Klasse) and I'm just torn on getting rid of it and having to spend a whole lot for new stuff
I think that auto wash is good for paint prep and such..Funny how much Lexol I have huh, wonder what the heck I can do with that, Lexol wrestling?
The Spinnybeck leather care is high quality though, bought from the Leather Z guys.Well, aside from knowing what to keep/ditch I guess I need to determine what to get. Aside from product I know I need new tools (towels, applicators, grit/dirt guard, etc) - it certainly has made this package very tempting, so much stuff!:

Thanks again for your feedback everyone
Aside from the Mini there is a red car who's paint really needs some attention poor thing...

About time you listen to me.
I guess I look at detailing stuff about the same as I do worthless stocks - you only loose money if you actually sell them. So as long as I keep the old detailing stuff I didn't waste money on it.
I'm keeping them until the the plastic bottles decompose and the EPA declares my garage a hazard site.
Besides, you never know when you will need a impromptu gift for a neighbor.

i never thought of it that way, but that's very true. other than thestuff i will NEVER use again, perhaps i should at least consider using
the rest on my commuters until i run out.
thanks for the wise words. no reason to throw money away.
Wait a sec. What is wrong with the Klasse Sealant? Its easy to do by hand. Just add a layer of the PS21 over the Twins.
Read some stuff in autotopia.com Many people now layering carnauba over the twins
and I though Lexol was good stuff? no?
The rest ... toss including that Meguirs Walmart stuff
I know this is all religious fanatic stuff but I have no found Malms to be just as good as wax. Liquid, very easy to put on, lasts a long time, again over the twins

). Yeah, I have been reading about using wax over Klasse for a long time (I think I tried it awhile ago on the 3 series), but it is a short lived result on anything but a garage queen and I'm not convinced that it is worth the effort over the AIO.As for Lexol, since buying it I've determined that it is 'ok' stuff to use on certain types of treated leathers, but far from the best available or good to use on all leather interiors.
We've found the Klasse sealant to be difficult to remove well by hand and thus the results are not very good - I think for best results it requires a PC or something. The SO hates it, will not touch it (and of course I bought the jumbo size

I have been using Malms for the last few months. Very easy to put on and last a long time for a Carnauba. Nothing underneath.
On my last major detail I used carnauba over Klasse AIO. My Mini is ungaraged & I have found the results to be quite durable. I reapply 1 coat of carnauba every 2 months & water beads like crazy on the Mini. Per the recommendations of others I plan to add a couple of coats of the Klasse Sealant Glaze to my bi-annual major detail this spring

I dunno about carnauba as a stand alone but I love it because it (I use P21S brand) is sooo easy to apply & it deepens my shine so much. It almost looks like my red goes 1/2 a shade darker when I apply it
