I finally had good enough weather this w/e to get my new Indi Blue MCS washed & done with Klasse All-In-One.
It looks pretty good, but I notice that close up there is a "mottled" shine to it (a friend described it as "orange peel&quot.

Here is a link to some less close pictures:

Is this a good finish? Can I get better with Klasse? Can I get better with something else?

Thanks.

Hi Iancull
Great shine.
I used the Klasse AIO, followed by three coats of Klasse high Gloss Sealant, then.... a coat of Pinnacle Soveren Liquid Carnuba. What a shine!!!!

it was very shiny with the High Gloss sealant, but the Pinnacle gave it a depth and clairity further enhanced the shine. Fantastic

Just my 2 cents!
JB

I highly recommend the Guru Reports Wax Test, http://www.gurureports.org, they test Klasse, Pinnacle Soveren and many, many others with surprising results. Best ten bucks I have spent in a long time. (I don't work for them)

By the way, I think you finish looks great!

JB,
I was put off the Klasse sealant by this comment "On the downside, it can be temperamental to work with and difficult to buff off" here:
Classic

I found the AIO very easy to handle ... is the sealant tricky like they say?

Hi Iancull
I did not have any problems with the sealant at all. I have used it on two Toyotas (one dark blue and one silver) and now the Mini(BRG). Let it dry for about 40 minutes before wiping it off.
I did not have any streaking or any other issues.

Post the GURU report results here!

This would solve a lot of wax questions and fights.

I got the Guru reports booklet - nice pic of Mini & MINI in the center

Lots of interesting stuff about how/why they did the tests, as well as tips, etc.

They put Zaino number 1 - that must please a lot of fans.
Number 2 is a wax (P21S?).
And Klasse is 3 or 4 ...

I put Zymol wax on my roof recently - strange having to hand apply - and I love the way the water beads; much nicer effect than the Klasse.
So maybe I will try this P21S - GuruReports says it will not color the black trim and I hope they are right!

Just a note about P21S's wax... you might find that the container looks a lot like the wax sold for Harleys, called S100. S100 is sold a LOT cheaper and a lot more local places (many Harley and other motorcycle dealers) than P21S and from all accounts is pretty much identical. There's been some futile fist-waving by the parent company that produces both that they're changing the formula of one or the other, but, well... tests haven't shown any difference between the two. So that might just be marketing trying to force car folks to pay for the more expensive package.

Klasse's a great group of products. I've been experimenting with another company out there that's just starting out. The owner is a GREAT person, responds very quickly to emails about his products. He's got a set of Polish/Polymer a lot like Blackfire that really worked well on my car. VERY easy to work with! Might want to check it out if you're in the mood to try something different: www.poorboysworld.com

Not sure why you're seeing the orange-peel effect on your paint.. my guess is that it's something to do with the application of the paint that the detailing is bringing out :/
