Must be winter, quiet here
blimey- i might do one of these instead...since we are on the fake bandwagon. much cheaper than the real thing.
but im going to wait until after WinterNAMM so that i dont accidentally jump the gun and miss out on some cool new V-series.... be awesome if roland does a V-Rhodes... i'd be all over it.
here's the korg... it sounds pretty good. has tube amp and all for overdriving some nice reed piano's. and i like the fact that it's 73keys like how it was offered back in the days. korg also has a 88 key version.

crap, amazon hasn't shipped my groove box yet and i paid extra to get it in 2 days.
i should've just ordered from my usual store (sweetwater).
my store said they would price match it and free shipping.... they were a bit late to reply back when i asked them earlier on in the day.
stupid amazon.
i'll return the amazon one and order up another one from my usual store along with that keyboard above.

hey that drum machine is pretty good. did some sound programming yesterday to make my kit and programmed some beats today.
sounds great with my piano.
my son's jamming(?)
on my old Korg 01W/FD right now...
i set it on some old tines so even if he plays like crap it kinda sounds like it's suppose to sound like that.... lol

So I never really got a chance to order the impact driver so I'm still undecided what I'm going to get for xmas from santa (wife).
anyone have any good ideas? Needs to be come thing she can get locally. I might ask her for a keyboard stand since I may/maynot order that keyboard tomorrow. (The one posted earlier)...

I saw an interview with Joe Perry at his home after GH Aerosmith had been out for a bit - his teenage son was shredding on the game - Joe said "yeah, he whips me at this all the time - I'm not very good".
Funny.
GH Guitar # real guitar.
However, GH drums actually teach you some drumming fundamentals...

But the drums---yeah, they do let you learn some real drum skills. Never played the drums before, but I'm likin' them. I may have to get me some real ones. I'll have to take note what pages on this looooong thread have the tips on what drum set to buy.
I'll make it easy.
If you want a real beginner set for lowest price but very good quality - Roland TD-4s, then upgrade the pads to mesh ones from ebay.
If you can spend a few hundred more bucks and think you'll stick with it, Roland TD-9, then upgrade the pads.

Yah, what blimey said.
I suppose if you have a house and your family is ok with you practicing without headphones, I'd get a very basic snare, bass drum and one tom, hats, and one crash cymbal and start from there.
Oh, and don't forget the cowbell.

Yah, I kinda decided I didn't want her spending more than $50, actually.
I think I'm going to ask for LEGO's again (technic) and build it with my kids. My older one's been asking for both the 'city' and 'technic' series kits and told him santa's going to only get one of the two, not both.
So I guess he'll get his 'city' dumptruck kit that he wanted and also get a chance to build the technic one with dad...
We drove to Springfield, IL, today to visit the Lincoln Museum and Library. On the way back south on I-55 the roads were very slick. We had to do 20 mph for a loooong way. We counted around 20 vehicles that skidded off the road into the side ditch.
it's more about survival driving in those conditions.
good job not playing dorifuto like those amatures.
went over to guitarcenter today and they didnt have that keyboard on the floor so i couldn't check it out.
so ordered up below for my fantom at sweetwater.
just as good, if not better from a sound and playing perspective.
i dont think one can get closer to a real thing than this... on top of that, my G8's keys
are top of the line.
i just liked that retro shape of the korg and its simplicity.

Reorganizing my music room right now. I'm at a point I'm pretty settled in so going to remove all the misc connectors/cables cabinets out of there and just make it a simple instruments-only room.
Should turn out pretty sweet.

gotz my exp board and can't wait to install it in my G8 tonight.
also got a boss footswitch for my drum machine (start/stop function). the good about this foot sw is that i can use any length TS cord i want. usually pedals come with its own cord and the one i have was a tad short.
my new monitor position sounds great in my music room.
i moved around some furnishing and this open space translates to a nicer uninterupted sound.
recalibrated the monitors as well.
i should clarity my equipment after im done with the setup.

Gonna go to Crate and Barrel to pick up something for the wifey for Christmas. The box is 53" x 35" x 8" and the folks said to be sure to bring a large vehicle to the pick up warehouse. I measured and it should fit in the MINI.
