Car Care on the Today Show, Today

So I'm watching the Today Show (like, right now) and they've got some woman on here talking about how to keep your car clean on the go.

So far she's recommended:

Baby wipes for the leather/vinyl surfaces ("or Armor All makes good ones!)
Purell for stain removal
Keeping a stash of plastic grocery bags in the rear pocket for garbage (not the worst idea, actually, but ugly)

I think I'm going to faint...the blasphemy!

Gotta love the Today Show...they always come up with ways to amaze me. Their quick fixes are usually good for people who are clueless about a certain subject, but if you even have minimal knowledge of it...it's really crazy what they say.

They could've suggested to keep the plastic bags in the glove compartment or armrest, but in the back?

:impatient I assume this "advice" is for people who drive crappy mini-vans for the sole purpose of hauling lots of people and/or stuff and think of said vehicle as an "appliance" rather than an automobile.

Nothing wrong with that , but MINIs deserve better!

That's funny.. I try to watch NASCAR (Non-Athletic Sports Centered Around Rednecks) races on ENN-BEE-SEE, and all I see are commercials.. no joke. I've just about given that up as well as other pro sports.

Your posting almost gave me agita!

They tailor those spots to the middle of the road home body who drives a minivan, where someone spills 'stuff' on a regular basis and only want to get up the stickiness. Obviously they have no clue, or care that the information can cause unrepairable damage to leather and cloth. (vinyl is more forgiving)

You have to forgive them for they know not what the do.

No coma - I just stumbled onto this thread and felt like adding my 2 cents worth.
If I had taken the time to notice the posting date of the last comment before mine I would have just mumbled to myself. (a frequent occurrence)
