Car wash at the bank

I was driving around today and came across one of those charity car washes. As tempted as I was to have a team of college girls wash my car, amung other things, I did not go for fear of paint swirls, micro scratches, and poor washing technique. Would you have done the same? I could have had them just clean my windshield or sunroof I guess.

I'm with, Krut. I don't want anyone touching LilTiger, but I'm a softie for charitable causes, particularly for members, groups, societies, etc that are willing to work for the cause as opposed to just showing up at my door with their hand out.

So...I tend to just fork over a few bucks to the homeless (window/wheel washers), the college kids or churches washing cars, or the neighborhood kids wanting to make a couple bucks of pocket money.

Yup...that's the answer. You do not want them washing your MINI....Hammer (and Coop, too, now that I think about it) set a very bad example!!!

I agree with Krutty, the marines do charity car washes all the time right down the street from my house. So whenever I see it, I run home, make sure my car is super clean, motor back up, and pay for the car wash that I just did myself. As long as its for a good cause I have no problem making a free donation.

Ditto - wash it yourself but a few bucks their way always helps the cause..

I'd never let anyone wash my MINI besides myself. But money to charity is always a good investment.

Tigs, I have a charitable college fund you can donate to - for my kids. Let's just call it the Maybee Family College Trust. Not tax deductible but I will send you a photo of the kids and will have each of them write you once a month. For less than $1 a day, you too can feel good about yourself and help a sure to be starving college student.

Actually...I'm not sure pitching in a few bucks is always a good idea. I jolly well better know where that money's going and so often you don't. "Let your alms sweat in your hands until you know to whom they are going." - very, very old saying.
