[Sat, Mar 17 @ 9:45am] St. Paddy Day 'cruise'
AARRRGGGHHH! I'm sure the weather is going to @#$%! because I'm heading back to MD today. Its a celestial plot to make sure that the guy from Hawaii freezes his okole off!

Let's all hope for the best and maybe take a few minutes to perform your own personal sun and warmth dance!
The weather man has been wrong before and if he isn't I drove my three season tires through the snow last week and it wasn't so bad, so I'll drive it no matter what happens just as long as it doesn't turn into one of those freak storms that dumps a foot or more. As of now CNN weather is saying partly cloudy high of 43 for Saturday. That shouldn't scare any one off. It'll just be a bit chilly for top down motoring.
Well folks, unless the weather is just awful, I will be there. I was supposed to work this weekend and now I don't have to.
I have not met most of you yet, so it will be nice to finally see the MINI's and the people behind the DCMM name!
See ya in a few days,
Tony

yea, i'm seeing a high of 42 for saturday. i doubt we will get any freezing rain. if the weather is bad, i'll still make it just not in the MINI. haha. i'll be there in an infiniti. it's got all seasons on it for now. i haven't put the summer tires back on that. The MINI has summer tires on it with no other option.

Hopefully it will be ok. SF doesn't do well in the cold wet snow with summer tires!but let me tell you....after his dyno tune today....WE are ready for a run! I can't WAIT!
Well, it looks like the car won't be fixed in time
so I will have to take someone up on the ride. I think I will try to meet up with Maxicooper before the event and ride with him up there, and go from there. I am still looking forward to the cruise even if I cannot cruise in my own car. Hell, it might be better from the passenger seat because I will at least be able to see the sights...hmmm no wait, what am I talking about?!
It won't be better, I would rather drive but what can I do?!

Weather.com just updated their forecast and they're now calling for a total accumulation of ice/snow of 3-5 inches up here in the southern part of Carroll County (in the heart of our run scheduled for Saturday). Most of it is coming overnight on Friday/the early hours of Saturday morning.
Now they're even calling for some lingering snow showers into Saturday afternoon.
Blech !!

Well.... I'm back and I'm COLD!!!
It seems that while it may be cool on Saturday, the forecast (as of this evening) is for only a 10% chance of precipitation (snow or rain to you people from Hawaii, Florida or Arizona...).
While this does not bode well for those of us with convertibles, hoping for our first top down cruise of the year, it does seem that driving conditions will be more than acceptable for the true MINI enthusiasts that you all are!!! Those with summer rubber are just going to have to warm those babies up on the way to Columbia!
On the way to the meeting point, I will be picking up some coffee and donuts for the early arrivers. That should warm you all up!
Remember all.... This is to celebrate one of the most sacred holidays of the year! If you don't believe me, ask the bookkeepers at Guinness!

Could we do a cherry picking & picnic cruise @ Thurmont / Cunningham falls / Catoctin Mountain park?

Pryor's Orchard

Thurmont, MD 21788

Cherry picking is fun. I found that the above orchard is not too crowded and is one of the closest orchard to the falls. Also the road around that area is like a mini dragon (Rt 77, Catoctin Hallow rd and Park Central rd.), plus a picnic at the falls. Everyone will love it.
Cherry season should be around late June. If we could put it together, that would be awesome.
Anyway, back to the original topic. The weather seems to be better from the forecast (will feel like 20's). Our St Patrick's cruise should be fun, our Mini will run very very strong......
I've got to put my full size trunk (R58 mule) to some use
I am not sure if I will come due to weather and work... (I am so sick of it..) Let's see tomorrow am. If I come it will be w/ Streghina (Runflats and GPS make it easier..)
GyPsy will stay put as the stock tires are not ideal for this weather ..... she is under her cover for loooooooooooooong time... getting tired to stay in the garage with the cat sleeping on her top...

Anyone have a Garmin compatible waypoint file for this route?
