From: AHHH!! The Weather...The Beach... The Bikinis!
Much thanks to all who braved the near blizzard conditions in sub-zero temperatures to make the run today!
It was interesting on that leg of the trip where the whiteout conditions prevented us from know whether we were on the road or crossing the frozen lake.
Good thing that rowboat was out there or we'd never have known....Oh... Wait... that was another time....

It was a fun day made better by all who attended. Thanks for coming! I agree that we should do it again when the weather and the roads improve.

A special thanks to those who took the lead slot today and navigated us through unknown territory.

Great pic's Beto!!

I think we should work on this run and get it dialed it a little more. We could stop at that ice cream place on the next run and perhaps stop at the Community College or that other place where the parking lot was at the bottom of the hill. Those could be good places for a photo op. BTW, good choice on the restaurant Feedback, it was yummy.

I think it is so funny that everyone on the left of me is leaning towards me because it was so cold and windy The guy behind me is like WTF, lets go already.

Scavenger, do you ever take NORMAL pics? I always see you have some strange facial expression

You've had ice cream from there before, that's Hoffmans. I have some of their stuff in my freezer right now. Boy howdy it's fantastic.

Maxicooper, those are good pictures.

All,
That was the most varied terrain we've had on a run so far, dry roads, wet roads, snowy roads, icy roads, dirt roads!! I think with a bit of fine tuning and a revisit in warmer weather, that will be a fantastic run!

dang, I wish I had been able to do this run...looks like you had a good turnout, despite the weather.
How much snow did you guys get? We got 4" here in Pgh. and it's bloody cold. Now I remember one of the reasons why I moved to much warmer MD.
Glad everyone drove safe and that a good time was had by all...

When I was driving home Friday night it was more sleet than snow. It was a slick drive coming home too. I heard they ended up with 4" in Westminster. I'm about 10 miles south of where they stopped off for lunch.

The run was real fun, 99% of the road was cleared up. From the picture above, that is what most of the road looked like.
Only 2 or 3 small snow patches here and there, doesn't cause anything but a beautiful sight. My summer tires work perfectly fine.
Deffinitely, looking forward to do that again....soon.

If we do that run again, I'll be prepared for a quick stop at the CR&PW residence... for a drink, a snack, and/or bathroom break.

We literally could have hit our house from the route we took with a good 3-wood and a pitching wedge.

+1 on that I was VERY suprised on how well the tires did. Now, I did slip here and there, but I think even the ones with the snow tires did as well (coughedgecough)

Thanks everybody--
I had a great time doing this run with Y'all. My other ride is a Jeep and this is the first time my MINI has been out in less than ideal conditions. I was impressed! It went thru everything without a hitch--even the dirt/snow tractor road.
Did anyone get pictures while we were on the dirt road? The folks at work just ain't gonna believe that I had my MINI "slinging mud". It's only been in the rain a few times prior to this.
Anywho, thanks again for a fine time, can't wait to do some more...
Tony

I was trying to take some picture during that dirt/mud/snowy road, but I ended up have to keep my eyes on the road to avoid potholes.

When my winter tires were slipping... it was usually on purpose - I was gunning the engine trying to make it so. I had aiming for the snow drifts instead of away from them... and trying to slalom while going through them. Yahoo!

Like the pictures guys! Turned out pretty good. I wish I could have gotten some pics of us on the tractor road, but alas, I couldn't see out the back window nor the front!

We're lowered now too. It was interesting.... We scraped all the snow off the road in between ruts...Quite interesting...

with the last big snow/ice storm, I thought I did some dammage, but when they looked at it, they said not a thing was wrong. As for the 'dirt' road, it was a paved road, but more of a tractor road so it was rather bumpy. Not too bad.
