[Sat, Mar 17 @ 9:45am] St. Paddy Day 'cruise'
I've tried to compute the number of miles I've driven in my life. It would be very interesting to know. Some years I drove as much as 40,000 miles and some years I only drove 5,000 miles. But over a period of 30 years of driving, I figure the total is somewhere in the neighborhood of 850,000 miles.
Of course, the miles I've driven on the Autobahns and the miles I drove in Japan (on the "wrong" side of the road) should count double so then we're way over a million.
Not many of those miles have been as fun as the 12,033 I've driven on my MINI Cooper though !!
Oh shoot! I just got a notice from my marina that our 'Burning of the Socks' party and bonfire is the 17th too! Now I gotta pick one.
(Sailors get together on or about the Vernal Equinox and toss their socks into the fire to celebrate spring, and the ability to go back to wearing boat shoes sockless. Also involves food and cheap beers. And yes, experienced sailors DO stay up wind of the fire)

The person in the MINI behind me might not appreciate it.
Nope, ya gotta toss them into the fire at the marina, where libations are served and the ancient legend of Captain Odiferous is read to the assembled mariners...
EDIT: Oops. Won't make this or the socks. Just found out I've got a funeral to go to, looks like Friday, in PA. I'll likely stay up most of the weekend since we'll all already be there.
Erin go Bragh! Have one for me, you all wouldn't know by my last name but I'm 3/4 Irish. Now, if you heard both of my Grnadmother's maiden and my maternal Grandfathers last names you'd understand.

Looks like we'll have 20+ MINIs joining this event... excellent !
If anyone wants to join us but is having car issues, I have a co-pilot seat open. My regular co-pilot has a HAIR appt that day. :impatient I told her I would do her hair and she could join us but noooooooooooooooooooooooo.

We will be sporting our new Invisible Wing!
Had to ship the APR back to Fireballed, something is rattling in there, and that isn't a good sound. So after the AFTERNOON it took Jay to get the wing off, we don't have one to put on!
And to top it off, the one we have is off by 1/2" YIKES! But Fireballed is going to send us a new one! So Invisible wing we are!
As my new MINI is here, and ready for another run (took it to Annapolis for lunch on Sunday) I will try to come by. The yellow Cooper will make a new home in Maryland somewhere, and I am welcoming a Sparkling Silver Cooper S!

Hey everyone, I will hopefully have MINI-Bee back in time for this Saturdays run. I am still trying to get everything straight with the insurance company
It is really frustrating me now. But if anything I will hitch a ride with someone that doesn't mind me being their passenger
Check out the update on MINI-Bee @ https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...75#post1419875
If you haven't already.

It's been a few years since I've enjoyed the Guinness, but I can remember it well enough to know you have your work cut out for you.
Oh i know.....but the brew that ramshead tavern in Annapolis make's theirself's is soooooo good. the call it genius stout and its AWESOME!
OK - I hope I don't totally rock the boat. I'm a new member - met some of you at the last dinner. My mini JCWorks will be driven by my son who is slowly trying to taking it over. My daughter will be his co-pilot. That leaves me to do the run in my porsche. Is this OK?

Great! I did RSVP - you have our total count. We're all excited about the run. It will be nice to see you all there. Oh yeah - my daughter will have my digital camera and will be taking a lot of pictures / maybe even some video.
