Cold.

It's cold. My Mini said 13 on the way to work. Poor Batmini. At least it's kept in a warm garage during the day.

Sorry about your car, mang. Just read the good news on your blog, though--glad they didn't try and pin it on your mods. Wonder why they don't like the occ? I did mine a coupla weekends back, and it was a couple of hours tops. If it's already installed, should be just a matter of re-attaching the hoses.

Nice to have a good SA. Mine told me my flywheel needs replacing, and when they do it, they're replacing it with my part (M7/RPS segmented), the Stage II+ SPEC clutch and a Quaife LSD. Only the Quaife is going to cost me labor ($350).

That's not cold

And another morning that winter (2003/4), GBMINI read -7 but I can't find that picture. I think Jason (who lives in Northern Vermont) saw -37 on top of a mountain on his MINI.

I am lucky indeed. If it wasn't a MCSa and a MCS I would have them put on a performance head

is that how you warm the car up there......pull the emergency brake and heat everything up a little?

reminds me of a documentary I saw on siberia. the local water/ice man, goes to fetch the water/ice in a truck. to warm the truck up, he lights a huge tree branch on fire and places it under the truck. after several minutes, he gets in and tries to start it.

I don't suppose anyone wants to hear about how it felt really cold here last night. It was probably just a little under 55 degrees......Today sunny again and will be hot.

Ya'll have ten days to finish up this winter thing. I am not sure how I will react to bitter cold after not needing to wear socks for 70 odd days.

yeah, there were low temp. records broken last night. If it's this cold now, I wonder what January's gonna be like. Man, Key West is looking better and better.
Jen, I hope you don't go into shock or anything...get ready to f-f-f-freeze your tootsies off

Like I said, ya'll have eight days now to finish up winter. I don't even have a coat with me to wear on the airplane! I am not even sure I have a long sleeved shirt. I will have to tell Michael to bring a change of clothes to National when he picks me up.

Wow... was that ice nasty this morning. I have less than a 2 mile drive to work now and my DSC was going off like crazy.

Was a little worried about it - I've heard that for those of us who grew up learning how to drive in snow and ice, our driving style is not very good for a MINI with DSC. Basically, we've learned how to do what DSC will do for us, and if we try to correct a skid or slide we actually interfere with the DSC.

So I basically just let my MINI do what it wanted this morning, and arrived safe and sound at work! And nearly all by my lonesome here.... Maybe the extra safety features weren't so great after all, I could have used the excuse and stayed home!

It was REALLY icy in Bumpass. Every time i turned my wheel just a smidget i slid like crazy. There were streets i had almost no traction at all.
But i felt alot safer in the MINI than i did my Miata

Brrrrrrrrrrrrr

I showed this thread to my daughter who is home for christmas from going to school in Rhode Island. She said yep, it's very cold over there.

This morning on my early pre 6am drive to the airport it was a chilly 66 degrees. I liked that cause my supercharger got to suck in some cold air for a change.

I guess I can go for a drive in the middle of the "cold" night just for the fun of it- more like a summer drive for most of you. No snow in sight... just the police.

Yes I know that it is abnormally mild here on the East Coast for January.

But I am back this morning from over two months in 80+ degree weather and I guess my blood has thinned.

I am FREEZING!!!

However, it is good to be back and I will see some of you guys on Saturday the 21st at Sterling.
