Air Conditioning - HELP!

Hello NAM Readers,

I just bought a '04 MCS and I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the air conditioning.

I have an auto climate control. The air conditioning button is ON. When I turn into low - it's nice and cold. Then I turn it up a little to 60F, 62F, 64F, 66F - they're kind of warm in which I thought should be cold. What I'm saying is that there is a high difference between Low - 60F.

Please let me know if you know the answers. I appreciate it.

Thank you,
dominos

Make sure you have it on auto as well when you do that. You can turn off the automatic control and that could cause some of the differences in your temperatures. What part of the country are you in as many of us are still using heat!

I am pretty sure that it is indexed to the outside temp. For example if it is 30F outside and you set it to 60F then obviously it would blow warm air on the other hand if it is 90F outside then it blows cool air....auto ac is just that.....automatic. BTW that little red nipple on the middle of the dash is the UV sensor to tell the auto ac whether its day or night.... set it on the temp you want, push the auto button and thats it....It will adjust itself, warmer or cooler

I see. Thanks for the replies -
That means my MCS is fine, right?

I live in Midwest - IOWA. Just got my baby yesterday - that's why I was confused. It was 25F last night.

When you turn it to 60F, the Climate Control, is trying to get the climate of the car up/down to 60F.

I have found that it is not quite set and forget I tend to bump mine between 68 and 72 on a regular basis. Leave it on Auto and leave the AC ON.

This is contrary to what you may think. But even if the AC light is on, it does not mean that the AC is actually running ! It means that it is allowed to run if the interior temp of the car requires it.
