hoo boy, I couldn't get an accurate estimate of amount....I was flying in to DC tmrw at 6pm and moved it up to 10am to get in ahead of it...DC freaks when it snows, eh? I recall a picture of two guys in the back of a dump truck w/ shovels -- their sander.

Hmmm, 10am to get ahead of it? One of the local DC news weather guys just said it's moving faster and it should get to the DC area around 7am!

When it snowed on wednesday, I believe, I saw some nut case in his pickup truck in an empty parking lot doing donuts! People do some crazy stuff these days!

And the MINI cover is wonderful! The is right at home tucked away tightly!
I have and enjoy using it cause it keeps all the leaves off and rain and snow.
But now I don't have a tree rigth over my MINI since we've moved now!

Some pictures are attached!

You're just jealous he got there first. Just admit that you wanted to be out there playing around doing hand brake turns/skids. I know I would, I mean it's an empty parking lot, not a whole lot can happen in a big empty area.

If you see someone in a Silk Green/blk MC doing donuts and hand break turns. It is most like my twin. I would never practice driving the car at limits in a empty parking lot. Good way to get to know the DSC and ABS.

HaHa Well its true I did want to have some fun but my father was with me and pretty sure he wouldn't enjoy me doing donuts! But anyways I don't have the DSC I believe. I do I know exactly and isn't only on MCS?? Thanks just wonder. But hey I'll find somewhere to go this weekend and have some fun if I can get out the house and get the cover of the MINI!

Convertible Car Cover

Just picked up cover this morning, though my car got so dirty picking it up I guess it makes my cover a waste but it still looks cool.

Hot off the presses. Here is my neighbor's 05 PW/BL cooper under his car cover. He placed his Cadillac in the carport (which is where my mini is!)

I noticed

you had to take off your antenna too, to put on the car cover. You would think they would put a sleeve for it. Its a pain to take it off then put it back on. Though in the convertible we got the antenna on the front instead of the rear.

The car cover has a "pouch" on the roof for the antenna, but it's very short - looks like it's made for the "shorty" S2000 antenna or the nav shark fin and not our tall ones .

Matt, DSC is an option on both the Cooper and Cooper S (comes with the Sport Package). Cooper S models come standard with ASC traction control which is different from DSC. ASC is geared more toward aiding you in low-traction conditions and under heavy acceleration etc whereas DSC helps control the car in the event it gets out of control in a turn, etc. I turn the ASC off unless it's icy. The last few days have been fun with the cold temps on dry pavement as I can spin the tires all the way through 1st and 2nd and almost into 3rd with the ASC off .

If you have a toggle switch on the center console for DSC on/off, then you have it on your car. If there is nothing, then you don't have it.

A Buncha Babies

We wanted to go to the movies tonight, as we didn't get the world-ending amounts of snow they hysterically predicted. So, we climb into the Subie and head over to the theater. Closed. We were going to have dinner before the movie. Nope...no can do. Closed. We head over to the mall. Closed. Closedclosedslosed.

We just wanted you all to know we were thinking about you today, so.....we went to the store, stood in line and bought milk, eggs, bread, and toilet paper.... The spirit is still there....

We had about 3 inches of snow in Alexandria. It was the same story over here. After the 8 inches of snow the Weather Channel predicted failed to show up, my brother and I decided to go to the movies. Closed. The restaurants surrounding the theater? Closed. The beltway, empty. It was wet and a little slushy, but that was it. I've driven the beltway at 3-4 AM before, and saw heavier traffic.

I also thought it was hilarious seeing how many people on Friday went to the store to 'stock up'. You would think that people were preparing for nuclear war! Shopping carts FULL of milk, bread, etc. (Of course, I was also there for the 'essentials', ie. beer and snacks! )

Anyway, drive safely out there everyone.

6 inches out here in Howard County.

We have a 3/8 mile dirt driveway, and I had to spend a couple of hours yesterday on the Kubota freezing my tush off to clear a path (photo is from a couple of years ago, but it still fits!). Now I have to go do an encore to clear out the wind-driven snow drifts.
