Twisties near Charlottesville, VA - suggestion?

I will be in Charlottesville, Va on Sat, 11/7 for a photo session @ UVA. I plan to leave Md early, like 10am. I will take a longer route, go by Frederick, 15 south and so on.

Any suggestion of good roads in the area? I will have over 2 hours to drive around. I won't start my work until 4pm.

Or any of our members live in the area?, a cup of nice coffee together would be nice as well.

Please advise, thank you.

Hey Maxi-
Did you mean today, 12/7? or next year 11/7? Or SATURDAY, 12/8?

You're welcome - I hope you have an enjoyable but safe drive. Also Cooper Vineyards, a place that hosts Mini's for a wine tasting each summer has their Holiday Open House Saturday from 11-5. They are about 35 miles outside Charlottesville.

December 8-9 Holiday Open House at Cooper Vineyards – Sat & Sun 11-5.
Stock up for the holidays with wine and gifts. Light fare. No fee.

Ah..ha, I might have to leave my place earlier in the morning.

That will make my work trip more enjoyable.

Thank you so much.

For Nikon, they call the "VR, vibration reduction" Lenses.
And yep, I do have that.

Rt 250 is the way to cross over Afton Mt. The drive from Waynesboro to C'ville is nice. Be sure to stop at Crozet Pizza.....best on the east coast. Also...some great roads out by The Miller School.

Thanks to everyone for the tips and info. Other than just going there for work, it will be a fun motoring day as well.

I had a great time. I got a chance to stop by at Cooper Vineyard for their open house. Really nice place indeed.

Also, the roads in the area are so nice. Lots of twisties and rolling roads.
I ended up turn the GPS off and drove to whereever the road lead to, made turns whenever felt like it.

I only remembered I was on Rt 20, 522, 3 and other in that area for a while.

So much fun.

Nice roads, good wine and fun game to shoot.
Congratulations to Westfield High School - Football, Virginia Division 6 State Champions.

Brian Kennedy, Westfield High School's running back in action, scored a touchdown at the end of the 3rd quarter.
The final score: Westfield 42 - Woodbridge 14.

Woodbridge was my alma mater. nice to see they made it to state....it's been a LONG time since they had a competitive team (school system made the high schools into content specific and WSHS is for the arts now)

Glad to hear you had an enjoyable weekend. That area is a beautiful part of Virginia. We also need to hit the backroads there soon, especially on these crazy warm weather days we've been having.

Definitely,

The roads are awesome, really fun to drive. The speed limit is on the higher side as well.
I love it.
