Think about going with 19x8.5 et42 as I have the wheels but not sure on the tire. 245/40 r19 sounds like it rubs on NM springs, which I have. Any more I put on that tire size for this rim??? Or suggestions??

you will rub in the rear but you can cut some plastics for it to clear
Not a big fan of cutting up the car or shaving stuff. *Sigh* On a 19x8.5 et 42, has anyone done any of these sizes below and had success on a lowered Countryman as I have NM springs as noted above. Just want to get a bit of side wall protection again the pot holes. 235/35 R19 looks great but is concerning when I saw it.........
225/45 R18 Diameter 26.0" <---- stock JCW rim
235/40 R19 Diameter 26.4" <---- this has been done successfully I believe and is where I'm leaning on an 8.5" wide rim.
225/45 R19 Diameter 27" <---- this on an 8.5" wide rim would likely have a stretched look but still have a bit more sidewall to deal with potholes !!?!? Whole 1" more overall diameter versus stock which is concerning. And likely no rim lip protection here either
225/40 R19 Diameter 26.1"<----- someone did these but I believe it was on an 8" wide rim, not 8.5". How much difference will that 1/2" make ?!?
Really leaning towards 235/40 R19, but in reading all the threads, haven't seen much on if anyone is lowered and rubbing at all with an 8.5" wide rim and ET 42
I really wish I knew what rims those are and the specs. Looking for the same set up.
i used to sell them but they stopped making them

Although 225/40/19 is the proper tire size, for some reason, tire sidewalls look little too thin for my taste. I should have bumped it up to 255/45/19 or drop the car by an inch or two.
