Compact Spare

Anyone know of a compact spare wheel and tire from another car that might fit the Countryman All4? It looks like some Acuras have the same bolt pattern.

Isn't it a basic 5 lug BMW bolt pattern?

Of course...that means RF purgatory too. Maybe not on some older model though?

bought a 4 cylinder 05 Chevy Cobalt for each of our MINI's. It'll only work on the rear, but ya really shouldn't put a space saver on the front anyway. Only down side, if ya have a flat on the front, ya need to put the original rear on the front and the spare on the rear.

I picked mine up from a local salvage yard for 45 bucks each.

Different bolt pattern

Other Mini's are 4 x 100. Countryman is a 5 bolt pattern.

Where are you going to put it? I thought 16" wheels were required to clear the brakes and the smallest tire for a 16" wheel doesn't fit in the boot well. You may as well go to a full size so you only need to buy three next time you need tires. Use the best of the bad for a spare.

Bought a never used 2009 Cobalt compact spare off eBay - will never carry it - takes up too much space in the boot. Tried wrapping it up flat on the seat behind the driver - seat would not tilt back.

Seriously the Chevy Cruise comes with just a compressor and slime, if GM thinks that's enough so do I. Motorcycles and scooters don't carry spares. Many custom cars and street rods don't carry spares. Have you seen some of the redonkulous wheels on cars today - how can you carry a spare for that.

Added a Dynaplug kit and fresh large can of aerosol Slime this year to the Slime Spair kit. Spair kit fit under the floor with the jack last year, put the new items behind the drivers seat on the floor.

Looks like X3 compact spares are 17x4", I would think they would clear the brake calipers, since they do on the X3. I've got a Cooper compact spare for my '05 S convertible, I've got it tied down in the back.

Bought an extra rim, exact same as is on the car. Put non run flat tire on it and it sits upright in the boot. It will, of course, fit any position on the car.

Will use for long trips... Local, I can call home for the spare.

I remeber reading this too but don't recall the details. This should give you the size to look for it though:

or you could pay and get that one I guess
