Yep, count me in. Can't wait actually. This will be a rain or shine drive but most importantly, a time to gather our Minis together and see 'em all smile.

There is also a great new coffee shop in Thomas that serves all kinds of goodies too. We'll have to check it out. They really did it up nice.

And most Saturday afternoons the Purple Fiddle has a free concert of some really good singers/musicians.

 

I may have a couple more MINIs coming. Jim

BTW: while in Thomas, the Purple Fiddle will be having a couple of free concerts around 3 pm and then the main concert at 8:30 pm for any of you that might want to stick around. I can tell you the music there is grass roots and some of the very best I've ever heard live. You can go to purplefiddle.com and check out the music schedule and even listen to clips of music by the performers. Pretty cool place. I hope to see the street packed with Minis!

 

Sounds like an idea, and a free concert is a bonus.

BTW, on the initial thread posting 8:30AM (with a question) was given as the meet-up time. I'm okay with 8:30AM, but does it put a strain on anyone else getting their "crews" assembled on time for the drive vs. a 9:30AM start?

 

I'm good for any time. I figured 830 meet would end up being a 900 departure.

 

We can bump the time if anyone has any concerns. Might be right in that we would end up leaving at nine. If we are headed for pizza first, we could leave a bit later and get to Davis in time for lunch. If we need to make changes, we need to pretty soon. Wonder if Mark is bringing Parker? That might be a factor. Let's see what we hear back. I'm good with early too, but whatever works best for the majority.

Sorry you can't make the trip, but all is not lost. I'll print out a copy of the business card that you created, and try to distribute it around town. I know where a few MINI's are parked (during business hours), and I'll try to track down their owners and give them a flyer.

So it looks like were a go for the Saturday, July 28th at 8:30AM at Almost Heaven Desserts in Bridgeport.

Yep, can't wait. Just went to the Purple Fiddles web site and listened to Missy Raines---the main concert for Saturday night. Wow, this group is great too. Thinking of staying overnight in Canaan afterwards. Not sure yet.
BTW: I just made up business cards from Vistapring with Mark's QR image on the card. Looks darn cool. They should be here in time to take with us. Yay.

US 50 East to WV 24

Turn right on WV 24 South (just past Cathedral State Park) and proceed to US 219

Turn right on US 219 South

Photo Opportunity at Silver Lake – Smallest Church in 48 States – on right

Continue south on US 219 up Backbone Mountain

In Thomas turn left onto WV 32

Historic and Shopping Opportunity at Buxton & Landstreet Building in Douglas

If we choose to do this, make a right turn towards Douglas from WV 32

Return to WV 32 turning right to Davis, and lunch at Sirianni’s Pizza on left

We may need to make a big turn around/U turn to get to the left side of the road for parking

Drive WV 32 South through Canaan Valley

For a little slice of Wales, turn right on WV 72

Twisties galore and the Hendrix/Hambleton speed trap

Near Hambleton, WV 72 joins US 219.

Turn right onto US 219 North and you’ll loop back to Thomas

Turn left onto US 219 South and you’ll be on your way to Elkins and the US 33 “Superslab”
