Way Motor Works Intake

I'm in the middle of installing the Way Motor Works intake on my R50 and I'm having a wonderful time trying to get the resonator to "pop" apart. I know this things gonna be awesome once it's on, but it raised a few questions-
1. What does this resonator actually do?
2. Does this mean that installing the intake is a one-way trip? (ie/ difficult to return to stock).
Any ideas? Thanks in advance-
J

BTW - The intake's build looks great and the shipping was very fast- Bravo to Way.

We just use a pry bar to go down and pop it out, just be careful of the A/C lines. You could reinstall it if you ever needed, but no one ever wants to.

And if I recall correctly, Way had to put a bit of effort popping it off on mine.

I "popped" mine off yesterday......HOLY COW!!! I had to work on it with a large crow bar for about a half hour. I didn't think it was going to come out, but I eventually won the battle, and without breaking anything!!!

Popping out Resonator Tube

I had the same problem on mine. I was really leery of nicking the A/C lines. I rocked the tube back and forth and could reach down and feel the tube separating at the top and bottom from the box. However it would not realease. Then I had the bright idea of sticking the pry bar INSIDE of the tube. Couple of whacks and it popped right out. Also, there was no chance if nicking anything. I don't know how great all the pressure was for everything down there, but I haven't had any issues yet.

AFE Pro Dry S Filter

I also used the AFE filter. Works great. Clearance seems to be fine and its a little bit shorter.
