That tube runs somewhere back behind the block. Didn't have time to bring the car in and jack it up to find where it connects on the other end.

It is some sort of vacuum supply, for what I don't know.

Did you just remove yours? What was on the other end of the tube?

Just a follow up, I did get a "response" from K&N. They wanted to me to confirm I didn't have a Cooper S. I sent them a picture of the engine bay -.-

Additional follow up from K&N, They requested additional pictures. The additional photos have been sent. Interested to see their response. When it is all said and done, I'll post up the pictures.

when i took the tube out during the intake installation, the extra tube hanging there was solid, and did not go through the main tube.

K&N, OEM box: Not loud. Intake temp between 18 to 21 above ambient.

Power gain was about the same with each configuration. Intake temp was monitored on each, all the time, using a Scanguage II and the Garmin HD.
I read this and wondered what a "K&N, OEM box" was? Is it just a filter or a filter with some part? Also, by not loud do you mean the same as stock or not annoying? Do you have more detail on the power gains for each set-up? Thanks in advance.

@ 3leafz, Thanks for the photo! That is how my elbow looks, but there is a tube running down the back. I'll get those photos posted up tonight.

@ Tank251, I believe K&N, OEM Box means the K&N "drop in" filter. So the filter is the same size/dimension of the factory filter, but has the K&N filter pleating with oiled media.

I attached PDF files from emailed pictures. First one is 0.7mb, second is 4.8mb. Consider it fair warning if you're on a non-ethernet connection!

So based on the post by jbewley "K&N, OEM box: Not loud. Intake temp between 18 to 21 above ambient.

Power gain was about the same with each configuration. Intake temp was monitored on each, all the time, using a Scanguage II and the Garmin HD."

The drop in K&N filter does nearly the same as the DDM and VIP, correct?

The drop in K&N filter does near the DDM and VIP, correct?
what does "does near" mean? If you mean performance wise, I would venture to say any gains on minimal and aren't going to be noticed by driving.

Yeah I was hoping jbewley would reply with more details. So many questions. Zero you bring up an interesting point. Can "you" (the driver not you Zero) notice the gains when driving? I have seen people say they can tell after the DDM or VIP and others. So I wonder is it the noise or performance? It would be interesting to see numbers (hp, torgue, 0-60 or 1/4 mile) for the K&N, DDM, and VIP.
