Wow, that is really sweet. Love how you got creative by using the stock throttle body like that.

I guess this combo must be pretty quick as they finished in second position at their first rally with the mods, after leading most of the way.

Congrats!!!!

Pour la Coupe John Nichols, les résultats, après cette première compétition, s’organisent dans l’ordre suivant :

1. Daniel Gauthier (pilote) et Daniel Pilote (co-pilote) sur VW Golf
2. Yohan Tessier (pilote) et Frédéric Prigge (co-pilote) sur Mini-Cooper
3. Maxime Labrie (pilote) et Robert Labrie (co-pilote) sur Honda Civic
4. François Jolibois (pilote) et Nancy Beaulieu (co-pilote) sur Honda Civic
5. Patrick Rainville (pilote) et André Rainville (co-pilote) sur VW Golf

I really like the orange paint. I also wouldn't mind the engine mods. Does any one know what kind of power gains come from this?

With that list and probably a bunch of other stuff he hasn't said yet he should be making at least 145hp.
Cams, header, cat. delete, pistons, rods, and all the work on the engine block itself and on top of that there are probably other things he forgot to mention.

How much exactly is hard to tell, every part from every brand can result in different gains.

Enrike dyno that thing would you

Kind regards

Der Abt

Long time since i`ve been here the tread now growing since it been moved from 2nd generation.

We started the engine a month ago with good and bad results

first, the compression ratio was to high 14.7:1 we had to install 2 .95 head gasket to reduce to 12.6:1 by that way the head rised up so i had to grind the key hole in the cam gear to keep the cam dialed and i also installed a 2nd gasked on the plug for the chain tensionner because the chain was a little to tight .

Second on the first test drive the car was way too rich around 30% ,so we had ruffly tuned with Dimsport software and now the car light up at 5500rpm thru 8150rpm but there is a problem i am unable to run more than 3 speeds thru revlimit the DME sense something wrong and came in "limp home mode".
seem to be codes p1109 and p1689 that cause that. The cops where behind me when i camed back to garage cause i forgot to install the liscence plate but he was cool and let me go.

With the ITB's the vacuum is very low and fluctuating i think that's why the DME kissed me.

First rally was the next week end so i decided to try remove the Cam and replace it with a Cooper S stock cam....Still limp. so i went back to stock intake to go racing but surprise, the ports have been enlarged so much that the rubber gasket was in the ports so i had to fill the groove with epoxy and install a composite gasket.

we had good results in the rally we were leading the 2wd championship by 3 and a half minutes when the fuel supply line came off, plenty of gas was spell in the engine bay, we where lucky, no fire.the driver simply plug it back and continue the rally.when the car came back to refuel there was only 3.8litres left in the gas tank.

The smooth torque curve of that setup was all it takes to drive the wheels thru the icy roads in CANADA.

Next rally will be tarmac so we will put back ITB`s and camshaft unless someone here have a solution to my problem I will go with a stand alone system because i have seen the power capability of the engine and i can tell you it is exciting,it`s more powerful than the Focus SVT i used to run so i ruffly estimate the power to 185hp but i will soonly dyno it. I will also post a video on youtube so you can hear the extreme sound of a S1600 engine.

will also post soon the litle flip we did last week end witch is the reason of our DNF at Rally Falardeau 2008.

www.rallyscoring.com

For you who want to know more on the kwickner the steering is now 1.5 turn lock to lock.Cool on ice and gravel but to tight on Tarmac .
