Greetings all, Merry*belated* Christmas and Happy New Year.

So we have a new wall of beers? I'll take one of those, tysm.

Someone got a *new* mini classic, mtymous right? It sho is purdy.

And we have cake now, instead of popcorn? Complements of Miniola. We certainly are moving up in the world.

I also see that Norm is looking to get a kitty wagon, fancy smancy.

I also espied a pic of a sweet little red mini w/a checkered roof. Can I drive it? O please.

Now then, I admit I skimmed so I'm certain I missed some vital info. I wonder what it could be I'm overlooking?

*nabs another beer whilst pondering*

miniola,,,what a cake!! I don't know what else to say,,but what a cake!! The baking area shows that you were working very hard on it..

Starting back to work has been a real drag... Gemgirl are there any Mimosa's left? And Miniola is there any of that cake left? I think these 2 things will pep me up!!

If everybody posts here just once a day until Skillet gets his mini, think how many posts we'll have!! We could all easily move up a "gear" or 2. Post here twice a day until it happens, and who knows where your post count will go? No more "post-whoring" required, just hang out here in the DHHIY thread!

Hey (off post here) minicooperwill... opinion please....
You have a SS and I was thinking about stripes but want something in a gold color to bring out the champage in the car....what is your opinion? do you think this would look good or tacky? be honest!

You could do a matte black stripe with gold outline... Just a suggestion. That way the gold wouldn't be too obnoxious. Just nice and subtle...

something like this...

It's funny, because we were just kinda talking about this yesterday, and how there is something about a silver MINI looking odd with a white roof and/or stripes. We think black is the only way to go.

IMHO, I think gold stripes would not look so good. It'd be like the woodgrain stripes I saw on an SS at MTTS LA. They are in the same part of the color wheel (if it were to have golds and browns and "champagne") so they don't really complement each other well. But that's my opinion, and I know there are people out there that feel differently. The black stripes outlined in gold might be a viable option (if you can find them somewhere).

Wanting to "bring out" the champagne gives me pause as well. One thing I like about SS is how the color seems to "change" based on lighting, etc. Having a stripe that brings out a color under one condition might make it look odd in different conditions. The black doesn't really seem to do that. I have the sport stripes on mine, which don't have the white border. Do the bonnets stripes still have the white border?

Anyhow, I probably should've posted a response in our wonderful SSOC thread, but here it is here, so hopefully all you other-color owners will enjoy our SS talk.

I think the same can be said for Mellow Yellow with white roof/stripes. Just doesn't look right to me.

The day I took delivery of my MY Mini, there were two others inside the showroom with it, one with black roof/black stripes and the other was white roof/white stripes. The white top was my least favorite.

I get a lot of people asking if I paid extra to have the body colored roof. It must be a rare option.

Wild paint. Would you keep it that way? Reminds me of the circus for some reason. (no offense intended)

The white roof looks good with a lot of MINI colors (the reds, the blues, BRG, the blacks, purple haze) but not with some others, IMO. Same goes for body-colored roofs: great on some, not so great on others. The MY/MY looks good, and PW/PW too. I like the contrast, and I like my contrast to be black.

Ok, one last post about stripes:

There was someone on eBay that does custom-made stripes. The ones he makes for the MINI were only like $9.99, $15 shipped. Might be worth checking out to see what he can do for you if you want something different.

http://stores.ebay.com/Rocky-Mountain-Graphics

Did a quick search to see what came up with "cooper stripes" and got some good results too.

Anyhow, good luck with whatever you decide!

Off topic???

I was playing with some 3D software this weekend. How many of you can "see" these pictures?

I can't, but then again, I don't have any 3D glasses.

You shouldn't need them. Just stare at the pic and kind of let your eyes un-focus (??).

With this crowd I should use this picture, huh?

The one with the leaves was easy, and popcorn was second, but first one was just a brief glimpse and could not be held.

Sunday comics has a half page version, with 'hints' for what to see and I can 'un-focus' on about half of them.

Think it is easy for kids

How is it done? (from the printer's standpoint)

Since popcorn seems to the popular comment, what's your favorite type and how do you cook it?

I like Orville Redenbacher's popped on a stove top in EV Olive oil. Salt to taste, no butter needed.

I can't see any of those 3D pictures.

I'll assume that all the pics are of people "doing it."
