The old adage is jacks of all trades are masters of none, but something tells me that's not the case here, at least when it comes to Mini restorations!

just got home from getting more supplies.....lol....taking a break today, should have the mini paint ready by sunday......considering taking off the rear bumper lip to make it a round butt, but not sure yet......it will save me money down the road from having to buy a rear bumper and over rider kit, and it looks cool .....not sure if anyone has a pic of a mini with the round butt, but if you do please post 1....thanks

Good luck getting the sand out of the yard. Mine is wrecked with part glass bead and part sand.

The one day we put out lawn chairs around the sand and had a few cold ones. Probably not that exciting for you but in western PA it was pretty awesome.

Norm could always do an au natural garden treatment for his frontage which would honestly be really great in Florida. Sand and palm trees... I think that would be really cool actually. Especially with all the little lizards that would come to visit...

Bah! The humidity is great for your skin! I'm looking forward to moving somewhere with a humidity % greater than 0...

Norm, I'll trade you for your house and job/jobs for mine. Although I may need to throw in a little cash to sweeten the deal. My boss just told us today to box up your stuff cause we are moving an hours drive away in two weeks. At this point I'd rather pump gas or dig a ditch all day anywhere in Florida than have to step foot in that office again.

lol.....i'd love to get outta florida, but my family is the only reason im still here.......anyways, the round butt conversion has unearthed a sh*t ton of more labor on my part......seems that someone though it would be a good idea to pile a quarter inch of bondo throughout the rear of the mini, biggest prob is that they did it good...lol......just goes to show, that the more you dig the more you find......you can never predict this kinda thing when restoring a mini.....so paint might be delayed depending on how much we accomplish tomarrow we are gonna have to reshape the rear......im assuming this mini was rear ended or backed into something good.....oh well...2 steps forward 4 steps back.....

You're two for two on the rear ended minis. I'd say chubby checker had at least a gallon of bondo in the boot covering up the wrinkles.

Anyways, Don't feel so bad about your budget. My budget is gone especially now that I need to move. Even if i get it ready for paint I won't have cash for paint or the rest of the stuff I need to get for it. If i hit the lottery I'll give you the cash to finish your car.

Nice! I think if I ever take my Mini back apart to that level it is going back to its original color of clipper blue. I was a lot younger when I put the red on it and liked the attention, now eh... it gets plenty of attention without the red and white.
