Starved Rock Route

I'm not going to be able to make the Starved Rock run this year due to a conflict; however, I think I might do it on my own and I was wondering if anyone has the approximate route that the group took last year (or that you would recommend).

I want to maximize the best driving route (most twisties)!

Anyone?

Well, after a very nice test drive, we have made some changes and found some cool roads.

Enjoy, the drive, after reading the "small" print below.

1st rest stop and re-group is at mile 40.5 gas station on corner of Galena and 47.

Mile 46.5 is really “Jericho Rd” that is the sign.

Mile 50 is really “Rock Creek Rd”

Mile 54.5 is “Ben St” becomes “Fox River Rd”

Mile 59-ish, You’ll go under the Rail Road Bridge, there’s a bank on right, and RIGHT after that is the right hand turn on to Whitfield, SLOW DOWN at RR, and be ready for Whitfield.

Miles 60-64. This is a very fun road and makes you want to drive fast. However, be careful! Finnie is tight and there’s no room for error. No shoulder and the edge is full of marbles. At 61.5 there is an uphill, that is BLIND, into a hard left. Please give each lots of room to play on this road to really enjoy it.

Mile 75, you are crossing a highway, be careful.

Mile 76.5 is our 2nd and last rest stop and re-group at www.concepthaulersmotorspeedway.com
This is a very cool outdoor karting track.

Mile 87, stay to the right on 71 into Ottawa.
Mile 90 in Downtown Ottawa, stay in the middle lane, once on bridge over river, move to right lane and 1st hard right after bridge.

Mile 97-ish, the 1st hard left in Starved Rock, aka “Conrad Corner” please observe a moment of silent’s.

Sightseeing sidetrips

For those interested, there's a really cool old stone arch railroad bridge over Big Rock Creek just outside of Plano. Its visible from the US-34 bridge over the same creek. Not exactly on the route, though, but pretty close.
