Mine wasn't so bad, the roads were fairly clear and I managed to miss the worst of the idiocy, but we're supposed to get even more of this crap tomorrow night.........along with ice........even so my normal 20 min commute took about an hour.
Thursday night we're supposed to have a KCMiniacs event (a Christmas lights drive) but if it's bad out I doubt we'll get much of a turnout.

The door handles and wiper blades were all frozen over by the time I got home. Needed to clean it all off so I have a chance to get back into the car and drive it tomorrow.

1.5 hr commute from peru to palatine. Basically way down 80 to woodfield mallish area. 100 miles
First 70-75 miles right up to where 355 dumps into 290 thinks were fine doing the speedlimit cars were moving to the right to let faster drivers pass etc. Took me 2.5 hours to do the last 20 miles as I got onto 53 what a cluster.
Did the 1st gear scoot for a while

I usually work from home on Tuesdays, but needed to go in for a 1/2 day meeting. Made the drive home that much more "special".

ARGH! the door handles!!! Yours too?! Mine would stick inside the handle each time I depressed them, and it was just so cold and wet the past few days that nothing I did released them... they just decided to let go on their own after my hands were immobile from the cold.
Luckily, I'm off to FL next Tuesday!!! And then Maui in March! See ya later, winter you freakin jerk.

Washer fluid on the door handles helped get mine unfrozen the other day...
I've also found that taking residential side streets instead of main roads during snowstorms allows me to not deal with the frustration of crawling along at 4 mph in rush-hour traffic. Coasting through stop signs when nobody else is around is more acceptable when it's snowing anyway.

Tuesday afternoon it took me 2 hours to drive from Warrenville to Elgin. Normally takes me 45 min. I woudln't be bad if it wasn't for the traffic. While the winter tires did not make huge improvement while accelerating, I was still able to drive about 50mph when i hit backroads without traffic (creative shortcuts).
This morning I decided to take wife's forester which also has winter tires on and handles snow driving much better (or much fun should I say), but 1/4 of the way I got phone call from my manager that I can work from home as they are not coming in either.
