Booked last night! Tower room, requested looking over the garage.

The PDX (Portland) MINI Club will be there (and representing Oregon) for the first time :-)

How many rooms does the Palace Station have?

The hotel has just over 1000 rooms, but our group rate is for 320 rooms. 140 tower and 180 courtyard. If you for sure want a tower room, get in before I email out about the room rate being open on Monday.

Does this mean there'll be a lower rate beginning on Monday?

No, it means that prior to Monday, only the people who read certain threads on NAM or emailed me directly know that the rate is open. Monday I'm going to email the AMVIV mailing list announcing the rate is open.

Room booked! I was told that they're getting LOTS of reservation calls, to the point that they have the AMVIV rate code memorized. When I gave him the check-in date, he asked, "For the MINI Cooper event?"

Call soon for a reservation if you want the event rate. It sounds like they're going fast.

I just talked to Palace. At 9:30am Vegas time, we're up to 73 rooms booked for Friday and Saturday nights.
For the math impaired, that means that with over 5 1/2 months to go, the group hotel rate (320 rooms total) is almost 1/4 sold out.

Only 73? That number actually seems really low to me....based on the number of clubs that got the word early, and all the folks on NAM that have already booked.

I'm going to call and MAKE SURE they didn't lose my registration

Just booked a courtyard room. Figured that as long as I'm there, that's good enough. Plis, a slightly lower price makes it a bit more palatable for the wife.

Yeah, but it's still 5 1/2 months away!

Hooray for geekchicks!
You're not going to do any other MINI events between now and March?

I mis-spoke on that. AMVIV5 will be my first national MINI event. I am going to the MINI track day at ThunderHill Raceway (NorCal) on Nov 1. Still haven't hooked up with any local groups in person yet, though Maverick MINI's seem to be a good group of people.

Maverick's is a good group, but so is REME and NORCAL. I belong to all 3 groups. The more groups you belong to the more runs you have to choose from.

Booked and can't wait for #5. Had a blast last year! Puget Sound Mini will be well represented again this year. Already have at least 10 confirmed & booked!

Most of the "Mavs" will caravan down. Feel free to join us.

I had a courtyard room in 2005, and switched to the tower in 2006. The tower is the way to go. The price premium is a little steep this year, but I splurged anyway.
