After having so much fun at MITM last weekend, I can't wait until our next MINI event! Looks we'll be able to make it to AMVIV in 2008!
We can already make reservations?
Absolutely. At least, that's what I'm told.
Any Sin City club members who are helping with AMVIV should definitely book their rooms for the weekend too. Oh yeah, this time they are limiting our Tower room allocation. If you want to be able to see the parking garage full of cars from above, book early.
I think that, due to the early notice, I can make it.. I really want to go...
will only take me...
Total Est. Time: 34 hours, 28 minutes
Total Est. Distance: 3736.53 km
There were two Canadian cars at AMVIV 4. One from Alberta and one from the Vancouver area (Me). Driving time alone (excluding staying overnight enroute) was about 22 hours. The scenery was spectacular. The mountain passes were twisty . Wished more Canadian cars made the run.
And I thought it was too early to talk about this....and we can book our room? I think I'll be waiting a couple of months to book a room.
Any new runs on the schedule???
I loved the "Valley of Fire" run and "Death Valley"
Didn't get 'Rita in time. My daughter and I thought about crashing the party, but we still didn't know how to open the boot, put a suitcase in and be able close it!!! We will be there for sure....two new faces.

I just talked to Connie at Palace Station. 9:30am local time on Monday, 8/21/07 and we already have 10 rooms booked on the group rate. She was surprised and impressed.
I'm happy you guys are so enthusiastic, not surprised in the slightest.

One of our biggest challenges with AMVIV is finding fun runs that can be done in 1/2 a day from Vegas. We're in the middle of a desert. There are a few great full-day runs, but a lot of people don't want to leave Vegas for a full day run when there is so much to do here. And even then, you're doing 100 miles of interstate to get to the 30-50 miles of fun roads, then 100 miles of boring roads back again. It's a problem.
I think that over the last 2 years, (this year was the 1st time we'd added new runs since 2005), we've taken people on most of the good, doable runs in the area. We've found a few other good roads to drive, but there isn't room at the end of the run for all the cars to stop for pictures. There are a couple of those that spring to mind. We're probably going to mix up the schedule and do runs from all prior years, and we're always looking for places that will work as an AMVIV run, but I don't know if we'll have any genuinely new runs this year. If AMVIV4 was your 1st time, there will absolutely be some runs that are new to you.
