Now if you could make a mount for your 10,000,000 candlepower rooftop light that would track with your HEAD - THAT would be badazz... so when you look left, the light points where your eyes are pointing - like a remote control headlamp (or like the shoulder mounted cannon on the Predator...)... One would most certainly be King of Dragon Illumination with such a rig...

Dude, I can barely fit a helmet on this noggin without hitting the roof (And I'm only 5'6" ) Hmmm, but if I MOUNT it to the helmet and open the sunroof....

This is starting to sound like something I would have seen in a "Revenge of the Nerds" movie...

You laugh... but I'm thinking....
I just want the mount to be removable/temporary so I don't have to "Drill" into my helmet Oh, and I'll need to find a handheld 2-3 million candle power spotlight with a handle long enough to clear the sunroof

Remember some padding so your hair doesn't crisp from all the heat.

I had aircraft landing lights I got from a surplus catalog on my '78 Subaru. Yes they were bright, but idle dropped from 1200 to 800 if you had them on while stopped.

Vargasgal, what you do is to push your rearview mirror up towards the roof liner so the light does not reflect in to your eyes. Some people will even pull the door mirrors in.

Any light from a MINI behind you that you might be blinded by is not a good thing, but if you do not see the reflection in your mirrors… All light, all light going past you will be a benefit to your negotiating the Dragon at midnight better.

BTW I am one of the people putting on the event so I have some idea what works.

Think about what you say!!!

People who have never done this may not be keen on your joke.

Until you are part of the team, please back off the great ideas you may have.

Um... OK. It was stated earlier in the thread to tilt the mirrors up and out of the way to stop glare, so I assumed people would get that it was a joke. Guess my "tone" was lost via the "web filter". I wasn't aware that only "team members" can make suggestions - so sorry.

Hey... There is no "I" in "TEAM"...

What "Team" would this be, exactly, and who would we make the check out to?

And I wanted to see someone tape their mirrors.

Thanks for ruining the fun...

Suggestions of tape on a mirror to some one who has not read the entire thread may be unwise - get the "view" of the situation!

Don't make jokes where safety is our number one concern for everybody.

We, MKO sponsor it, put it on and provide people too see to everyone’s safety at NO COST to you, the drivers or anyone who may attend.

You need no check, cash or credit card and this drive is brought to you by MKO.

And where is there an "I" in what you quoted dude?

And yes there is an I in team!!! Just pick up any paper or turn on any TV to any sport and all you will see are I's on every team.

Me, I'm not an "I" and never used 'I' in anything reffering to this event. Personaly ony said team, not I. Go back and ckeck. a big to you too.

Wow. All suspicions have been confirmed.

Thanks for your kind hospitality in allowing us to play along. I'm not worthy.

Oops, I used an I... Dang, I did it again... Uggghhhh.

Hey! One very kool thing that Yucca did, which he probably mentioned here already, but which I will reiterate: he has amber bulbs! I cannot recall if they are in his hi-beams or in the rally lights, but they provide great light for driving and do not blind opposing traffic. Just another little goody to consider for your night-driving adventures!

Blimey and ImagoX, I was getting a kick out of your banter, but I can see how newbies to MOTD might be scared off from the Midnight Run by some of the more extreme comments!

Anyone wanting to check out our kool t-shirt, check out the Event Calendar and you may purchase them here. All proceeds from sales of this shirt will benefit United Cerebral Palsy.

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt...
And a very nice T-shirt indeed!

Amber bulbs - a very good idea!

Thanks for letting us have a little fun, Clo. We weren't trying to scare, or mislead, or offend, or kill anyone. YOU were then one that started all that by "scaring me" into buying driving lights - then it kinda spiraled into a weird (but still semi-on-topic) place...

Woo Hoo! Minis on the Dragon! Everyone come and be safe and have fun! And buy shirts for a good cause!!! MKO rocks!!!
