I'll share a midnight dragon slayer's secret.
If you have rally lights, you can adjust them for maximum visibility through the turns. Adjust your rally lights a few degrees inward and you'll gain some extra light in the curves.
Here is an exaggerated diagram.

Tip # 2
Another midnight dragon slayer's secret.
Run with your hi-beams and all rally lights on. Burn every light you have.
Do not care about the car in front of you because you will all and here’s how it works kiddies, you will all push the rear view mirror towards the roof so the lights behind you do not reflect in to your eyes, but the lights behind you will illuminate the road in front of you.
You do understand this is only for a clean run. If some one is driving towards you, you must dim your lights for their safety.

sndwave is referring here to the first rule of Italian racing:
"What's behind me is not important!"
On the dragon, you need to concentrate on what is in front of you. With your mirrors adjusted to eliminate glare from the lights behind you, you are free to pay attention to the road and not be distracted by someone behind you. If someone is right behind you, you will still be aware of it because their lights will illuminate the interior of your car.
Ideally, people should spread themselves out so that there is only one car on any given turn. That way you get to choose the best line for yourself rather than blindly following the car in front of you. Remember that if you are right on someone's bumper and they make a mistake on a curve, you will almost certainly make the same mistake.

QUESTION:
Why this way? Why not point each light OUTWARDS rather than have then cross in front of you? Seems like the "cone" would be wider that way, but maybe I'm not envisioning this properly.
FYI - I use my driving lights in a similar configuration, but I have mine angled outwards. They REALLY help with twisties, I totally agree!
PS - great tip on the mirrors. I'd normally not do this, but I trust that MINI people will leave enough distance so I don't have to worry about watching my back (I hope).

This fact really needs to be emphasized more heavily. Last year there were quite a few who treated the midnight run as if it were broad daylight & they were running a race. If you haven't driven the dragon it at midnight it is dark. Not dark like it gets at your house at night, dark like a black hole where you can't see your hand in front of your face dark
Other than that WOOT WOOT have fun!!!

Here is another low quality exaggerated illustration showing the difference between the two options.
