Hey all, update time.
The list you will see below is up to date for the information I possess. You will see user IDs, where they are from, and the beers they plan to bring. There's also a small list of who is participating but doesn't know what beer they are bringing yet. Please review the list and if I something is wrong please Private Message me rather than post. That'll keep the thread from getting unecessarily longer. I'll make any changes to the list you need. For those who see their name as unspecified, if you now know what you plan to bring PM me and I'll add it. If you don't see your name on either list and it should be then please PM me.

Chris, I don't do scotch. Bourbon though....
Keep checking that list guys as it'll update. I've already edited it twice. When it gets further pushed down the thread I'll repost it.

Just another note, Homebrews are welcome. If any of you guys out there like to make your own beer and think you'll have a tasty batch ready for the Dragon....bring it. Good beer needs not a name.
Anyone interested in any Canadian Beer, eh? How about some fine Microbrews..
Dragon's Breath Real Ale

Sorry you aren't thrilled with white but neutral colors are always the safest route to go. We can't sell different colors due to the cost.

So you're coming all the way from Kingston, eh? I was in your fair city last spring, May 24 weekend. Missed Dragon's Breath Ale for some reason. If you check earlier posts in this thread, you will note that I am bringing Sleeman's, Creemore and Rickards. See you at the Dragon!

Just take a look around your area or look at the link Gabe put up earlier for brewery locations. I need to add that link to the website. I'm sure you can find some brew not already on the list. Or you could make your own.
Feel free to make a side arrangement with anyone, as well, to get a specific quantity of specific beer.
Let me know if you want me to add you to the list.
And people, keep checking that website. The list will be updated when ever someone gives me new info.

The website looks great! Good idea including the brewery map thingy.
Chows4us, looks like you and I are both down for the Sam Adams black lager - if you're definitely bringing that, I'll look into some other stuff. Maybe something from the Cambridge Brewing Company (Cambridge, MA), although it looks like they only sell their stuff in growlers, not in bottles, so I'm not sure if that'll work (I'm camping for four days before the dragon, and they'd have to stay in my car). There are plenty of other great Massachusetts brews, though - Ipswich, Wachusett, Buzzard's Bay... I'll come up with something else if that's cool with you.

Chris,
Chow is definitely bringing Black Lager. I talked to him yesterday. You can still bring some if you want. This sort of brings up an issue which I was asked about yesterday.
How much beer should I bring?
Ok this answer is really up to you but let me give you some guidance. Right now there are close to 3 dozen people participating. We have beer coming from over 25 breweries. Now these people may only bring a 6 pack of each, or a 12 pack or a case.
I'll probably be bringing a total of 2 cases, maybe a little more. Not all one kind mind you. Probably a 12 pack of Abita Turbo Dog, a 12 pack of Purple Haze & a 12 pack of Dixie Blackened Voodoo. I'll be touring several microbrews here in LA in early April and may add more or alter the totals you see above. I'd like anyone who wants a beer from Louisiana to have one. And if I bring too much and have to bring it home I won't be crying.
Price point is another thing. For all I know some of the beers listed may be expensive and thus the participant isn't going to be bringing a lot.
Since most beers will probably be traded 1 for 1, or something like that, then maybe you should bring as many beers as you want to leave with.
Beer that needs to be kept cold is welcome but that's a PITA. I'd suggest sticking to beer that can be left at room temperature. So I think that'll eliminate growlers. But like I said, it's welcome if you are willing to make sure it stays cold. And in case any of you participants are new to the world of beer...don't take a cold beer, let it get warm and then cool it again. Big no no.

Temperature change is not as bad as exposure to light though. UV is bad for beer. Dark bottles will keep better, especially if it is not pasteurized. Think about all the skunky beer you've drank out of clear bottles.
Cool and dark storage is good.

That stuff has to be the most overrated beer on the planet. And Becks always tastes skunky, and that's in a green bottle...Anyway, I'll leave the Sam black lager acquisition to chows4us, and instead I'm going to bring Ipswich IPA (Ipswich, MA), one of my local favorites.
Well you better count me in as well, if you have the space. I'll be flying the colors for Yards, the brewery just yards from the helix13 shop, bringing their benchmark Extra Special. They have some small pony kegs (like 4 gallons) that they can fill with real ale (cask conditioned with live yeast and a touch of invert sugar). Barring disaster, I will bring one of those down in the helix mobile. It's not a firkin, but it should be very close to their real ale, served at cellar temperature with lower carbonation.

There's definitely room for you and many more. You'll be the 2nd person bringing Yard's which is ABSOLUTELY OK. I highly doubt the other gentleman is bringing a small pony keg.
You mentioned Firkin...my Dad went to a Firkin bar or something in England while overseas with the military. Came back with a towel that said "keep your hands off my Firkin rocks" or something like that. Good beer I take it.
No one will complain if you trade mod parts for beer either.
I've contacted all the breweries to see if they will contribute freebie stuff or marketing materials for the swap. I'm keeping the results of this quest under lock and key till the event but wanted to let y'all know. I hope to have some cool stuff to give away along with the VERY cool custom Whalen(which is on its way to me as we speak).
Matt
Edit: Website has been updated with the latest info on participants and beers.
