Apop & others,

I think we've finally nailed down where we are going to be. If you have been to MOTD before we'll be in the old place where you used to check in, the old Administration Building. Apparantly it's now a meeting hall.

I'm working on finding out the capacity to make sure there's room and to see if I can let any waiting list people in.

More to come...

I will be at the Dragon, but I'm not a beer "connoisseur" and didn't sign up. I did, however, make sure my bro would be representing San Diego breweries! Sounds like ya'll will have a blast, especially with a pre-swap bbq in the works.

Ooooooh! Ooooooooooh! I'm off! I'm off the naughty list!!!

I'm bringing 2 from Magic Hat: Circus Boy (hefeweizen) and Blind Faith (IPA)
and 2 from Long Trail: Double Bag (sort of a dubbel) and Long Trail Ale (speaks for itself). Couldn't find any Cotrell.

Leif is bringing his homebrew (they're usually quite tasty).

Now... does anyone know if I ordered a shirt? I think I did, but I'm not 100% on that...

Kelly,

I don't see your name on my order list. Did you order it under an assumed name?

^^ I don't know!

I thought I had, because I kind of remember Leif sitting behind me when I asked what size shirt he wanted. But then I did order while on assignment in Bolivia, and I can't remember what super secret spy name I used on that mission... Have anything for Princess Conseula Bananahammock?

(seriously, I probably created the entire memory)

It looks like we're all going to have a really good time! I'm looking forward to the swap and BBQ. Thanks Matt for organizing all of this. Is there anything else I should plan on brining, food wise for the BBQ? Do we need paper plates? Forks, etc? Matt, did you still need the tickets?

Just when I think I have no patience you swappers prove you're worse than me. Didn't I just say we'd have that info soon?

S'all good. John & I have almost worked out how this will go down. Right now it looks like we'll collect money pre-dragon, & probably at the bbq too, and we'll get all thats needed. The food, the plates, nakpins, forks, etc. would all be provided. This keeps us from having to have different people bring different things and then having to make sure we have everything covered. I don't think it'll be buffet style but who wants to stuff themselves silly when they have so much beer to sample afterwards?

Annette, we definitely want the smoke wolf as long as you and hubby don't mind. If you guys want to throw in some chickens feel free.

The location has now FINALLY been set. It'll be in the Old Administration Building where check-in used to be. Check-in is now done at the Lodge. I have a map...

beer-swap at the check in area? (that's kind of out of the way)
i don't think there's a walking path to that area from Fontana Village public/cabin area.....and that means driving on 28
(a super short distance...but driving non-the-less & on a public road)
just putting in my 2 cents.....(it can't hurt me, i'm already on the naughty list )

Kool,

I understand your concerns but we had/have no choice as far as venue. This was where they could accomodate us so this is where it has to be.

While there may be no direct footpath I don't see any problems unless there is a line of impenetrable trees or a concrete wall between Welch Road East and the admin. building.

I would advise anyone who is staying in Fontana, and is a good distance from the admin. building, to drive their beer up to the swap first, come inside and put it in your spot and then go return your vehicle to your lodging area. Then walk back to the building. We'll make sure no one messes with your beer.

Under no circumstances should anyone get behind the wheel of their vehicle if they have been drinking even if it is a "really short distance".

IIRC there is a footpath to the main areas.

S'all good.
Unbridled enthusiasm. Short term memory. What can I say.

Okay - I'm leaving my special beans at home then - unless some one wants me to bring them. Probably better. We'll be indoors later for the beer... we wouldn't want any unnecessary flatulence occurring

Smoke Wolf will be there!
I'm guessing there will be a place we can bring it near the check-in area and park it for the day so it will be convenient. If not, we can leave it at our cabin, and bring up the chickens, or whatever, when they are ready. We are easy, so will do whatever is the least complicated.

Totally OT here, but I've always wondered what IIRC stood for?
Can someone enlighten me, please?

Annette, IIRC means If I Remember Correctly. Working on where we can have the BBQ. If we can use the parking lot at the admin. building you could park it there until the bbq.

Kool, smartass . I hear it referred to as the lodge but yes I do believe that would be the Inn.

(i always thought that's where check-in should of been, anyway)
btw:i don't see why the admin. parking lot wouldn't work for the BBQ,
as a matter of fact, i'll give you permission..........smarta$$ checking in
