My 08/24 production U25 SE has no USB data port hardware, thus no USB audio source possible. All USB ports are for charging only.
Expected USB port - power and LVDS (data) connection Front USB port in my U25 - power connection only
Owners manual (7/2024.38 and 7/2024.40) shows that this USB power-only hardware is correct for the SE (no USB audio), and OEM schematic confirms that this hardware change was performed from 07/2024 U25 production - no USB data ports (A519) from July-on production:
I think it's essential to know which model of the U25 (and country location) each person is referring to in the discussion, e.g., electric, S, JCW, etc. Clearly, as has been said, if none of the USB icons (front or rear) illustrate that the connection is both power and data, then I would not expect a USB stick to supply media.
BTW, on our JCW, the two front USB connections have the power and data symbol and our 'stick' works to play music....though it would be nice if it could download the files into built-in memory and play without leaving the 'stick' connected, like some of our recent other cars were able to do. Also, I noticed the USB stick seems to still remain powered up even after locking the car....obviously not a good thing if it drains the battery over time.
I just took delivery on my 2025 MINI Countryman S All4 electric. One of the reasons I got it was that I have a small one-car garage and most electric cars are huge.
On my first attempt to park it in the garage, the alarms went off like crazy as I approached the back wall. Any settings or tips to fix that?

You should see the Parking Assistant Icon at the 3 o'clock position on your display. If you tap it, the sound alarms will be silenced. There is a setting under Park Assist to change the default volume of the alarm as well, so it is not as loud.
2018 Countryman SE All 4 here. I've been spending time on the Mini website scoping out the 2025 models. I am bummed out. Hate the interior. Hate the lack of buttons. Miss the jukebox lights. On cold dark winter mornings driving to work in the dark, they kept me smiling. Disappointed that there is not a hybrid option. Not a fan of having to menu dive for just about everything (really contributes to distracted driving). Fortunately my 2018 only has not quite 43,000 miles on her. Guess I will wait until 2027 and try to pick up a 2024 lease return. Given the new generation, it will likely be my last Mini.

Let’s retrofit USB audio for 07/24-on U25 in 5 plug and play steps:
- remove center console trim, and glovebox
- plug LVDS cable into OEM HU USB port
- run LVDS cable from OEM HU to center console
- replace power USB ports with data/power USB ports (84105A57B32) in center console
- plug LVDS cable into data/power USB port

That's the only part needed? I.e., it includes the cable?
If you have an iPhone or iPod, can you please see if the OS9 will read playlists?
Interesting!! Wonder why MINI/BMW nerfed the USB jacks -- cost cutting or circumventing a potential (officially undocumented?) hackable physical point of entry? (Ala KIA)
U25 I test drove was delivered to the dealer in June and I didn't notice whether the jacks were labeled different between what I tested and what I took home but I'm pretty sure it was a newer production model since it showed the STOP SALE on its dealer records.
Answering my own question — found these “Tesla” powder coated metal hooks on Amazon and they slotted in pretty well between the headrest and backing panel? Sure, hooks don’t fit down flush to the top of the shell but I don’t expect to hang anything heavy from them and should suit my needs. Priced inexpensively at $8.99 for two, $15.99 for four.
Anyone else annoyed that you can barely pull the wipers away from the windshield (arm hits the hood) or rear window (doesn't fold out anymore)? Plus that massive cavity below the windshield is a total dead leaf collecting repository that's a pain in the *** to clear out -- and here I thought the F60 was bad!

Someone on a facebook page helped me with this exact issue. Go to page 165 of owners manual. Basically with car off but screen on you would push the wiper stalk away from you and hold it. Wipers will make a few passes then stop in the upright position where it is easier to clean and certainly during winter to fold out so they don't freeze. A tad tricky but it worked.
Best.... Steve
