I'll be your first customer for lowering springs on the U25 as soon as they're posted! I have the electric Countryman SE...any thoughts on whether the springs for those would be different than the ICE Countryman S? Thinking weight may be a factor...
Dear friends. What is the current software version of your car? Mine is 03/2004.57. I am from Turkey and Mini app says that this is the latest version. Is that same on your cars? My car is 1.5c petrol JCW.
We took delivery of our 2025 MINI Country S All4 on 06/10/24. The latest software version for our rig is 03/2024.40 - MINI app shows that is the latest update - waiting patiently until the next update is available.
We have a number of issues that hopefully will be rectified with a new software update:
Trail Mode: Experience Mode states not available in Trail - no compass / inclinometer
Personal Mode: our vehicle does not even show this mode - MINI USA website states 'Personal Mode will become available in July via Remote Software Upgrade.' July is long past . . .
Note: Our dealer cannot answer my questions as well as MINI USA. Maybe we can find a genius on this North American Motoring Forum that can lend a hand . . .
Take care, Daniel

If your version is dated 07/2024.38 and both those experience modes I mentioned work for you, how can I get the latest update from MINI or when will the next Remote Software Update be available?
Any help you can lend or explain will be greatly appreciated.
Take care, Daniel

Hello Technic,

Daniel - Our 2025 Countryman JCW OS version is the same as yours....and we're hoping for updates soon to correct at least some of the glitches.
So, perhaps Technic's version is newer because his Countryman is the SE electric. I know that doesn't help but maybe it's the reason. BTW, my understanding of the 'Personal Experience' is that it simply allows you to load a photo of your own onto the screen. To me, that's superfluous junk. I would much rather have them spend time and resources making the OS9 and Interaction Unit better. One example I'd like is to have a tachometer show on more than Go Kart 'experience'. After all, it is a Mini ...and mine a JCW too.
Agree about the operating system. Can't really understand most of my voice commands, those it recognized sometimes comes back with unexpected results. Wish they would have included a compass somewhere on that giant screen or in the HUD. Same with turn signal indicator - in the HUD a little something what would blink. Right now you have to look at the main screen and the click volume is pretty low. Yesterday I tried the remote start. Worked fine, opened the car and got in. Car would not allow me to put into drive unless I turned the car off car and back on (still need to try again and verify) Maps need a huge update. Coming home last night it showed a cross street from the main road but the street was wrong. Directions once to a store took me down a wooded private driveway. Would like to have a display someplace while on tach or nav mode that indicated what music source I was on and what song was playing. Would love for MINI USA (and other countries) to come up with a list of voice commands. that actually work. I'm supposed to be able to ask MINI about traffic conditions on the route I've chosen in the nav - nothing. I have not seen anything up to this point of why I should consider paying anything for MINI Connected Plus. I don't play games nor stream movies. There doesn't seem to be an official board or person that we can funnel these type of problems or suggestions to. Your thoughts appreciated.
Best.... Steve
We have had our SE All4 for a couple of weeks here in Vermont. The software is 07/2024.25. First impressions are excellent. The ride is supple on the 18" wheels and the sounds of road and wind are very well isolated. This is, without a doubt, the most premium "Mini" ever, even if it's not at all small or particularly sporty. It is, as one writer suggested, a BMW iX1 in a clown costume.
The average economy is 3.7 mi/kWh so far, compared to 4+ on our 2024 Cooper SE, both on relatively quiet, lower-speed roads. The Countryman is way faster and has no trouble putting the power down. The range meter is different than the Cooper SE because it has been steadily increasing during the time we've had the car. (The Cooper SE seems to be dependent only on SoC and ambient temperature.) It's now at 53% and 135 miles, equaling about 255 total if charged to 100%. Mini recommends an 80% charge limit for daily use. So in all practicality it is double the range of the Cooper SE; more if you go to 100%. The range meter also seems to know what's ahead: If you program the navigation to take you on an interstate, the range drops due to the speed. I prefer the one-pedal driving of the "B" mode. This takes a double-press of the gear selector, which you get used to very quickly. There is an automatic parking brake option in the menus to prevent the car from doing a little roll on its parking pawl.
A few other notes on this fully optioned car (everything but the adaptive dampers):
Initial Configuration: It came from the dealer with a few selections like "run the climate control upon opening the door" and something similar with the radio. This is something we might switch on at some point again but initially it just made it very hard to know if the car is on or off and how long it would run after walking away.
Night Driving: The screen is too bright at night, even on its lowest setting. I have uploaded a black background on the Personal Experience and that is better. The headlights are excellent. It appears to have cornering lights but I've not really noticed them come on; it's obvious on the Cooper SE but I'm not sure if these have been "decoded" for our market.
Driving Aids: The adaptive, lane following cruise control is excellent. It has yet to be blinded by low light like the Cooper SE which basically can't drive toward the sun without cutting out. It requires a very light touch on the wheel to keep happy. It is almost "too good" and could cause you to not pay attention. The Parking Assistant Professional (a one-time $200 option or monthly subscription) IS available as a trial if you activate it (you have to have Parking Assistant Plus) after delivery and is nifty but wildly swings the steering wheel in the most basic maneuvers. The augmented reality navigation is useful.
Phone as Key: This feature works really well, even with a relatively low-tech iPhone SE 3rd gen (it says the phone is too old.) Auto-park does not work with this phone. We haven't figured out how to get the secondary phone to link to the secondary profile, like the keys.
A few quirks that maybe someone can help us figure out: 1) The voice on the navigation is a very strangely accented man and seemingly the only option, despite what we saw on videos with a British woman. 2) You can set up an old iPod touch as a Bluetooth device, but despite what the manual implies about using a USB stick, there's no obvious way to "drive" the iPod from the car aside from next track. 3) The doors auto-lock at a walking pace and there doesn't seem to be a way to shut that off. You can, however, make them unlock automatically in Park and/or at shutoff. 4) There's no button on the end of the blinker stalk to quickly scroll through the trip computer; that requires a swipe on the screen.

With Remote Start, enter the car then depress brake and then turn ignition switch and release. Engine will continue to run and you can then engage Drive or Reverse.
Did they also do away with home link on the 2025 4 door iconic? My wife just picked hers up and there are no more 3 buttons on the rear view mirror to set up home link. The dealer told us the iconic came with home link.

No HomeLink on the U25. Your dealer is misinformed. Mine was also unaware.
Picked up our fully loaded 2025 Countryman S All4 yesterday,. It's been an overwhelming adjustment from the F60. Going to take some time to get a handle on the UI, it is not very intuitive.
Will provide more thorough feedback, but from the jump come to find out that HomeLink is no longer included or even offered, the kick to open tailgate function is gone (at least with cars equipped with tow hitch), you cannot permanently deactivate Auto Start/Stop, no shift paddles, huge key fob with slot too narrow for any keyring, no way to engage a Sport mode unless you specifically select the Go Kart experience, and an overly complex, nested series of.menus in the main screen.
Having said all that,it does drive very nicely, the seats are more comfortable, way roomier and much higher quality materials all around, and looks great in my opinion.
Steep learning curve on the electronics for sure. I'm actually having to do a deep dive into the manual. Does seem like Mini failed to consider some very basic features like an easily accessible screen with radio presets.
More to come. Feel free to ask questions.
Hello. I found this place and have been reading for a while.. Great info folks but wondered if anyone has come across this?
I have plugged in a USB drive but the system does not recognize it. I drove a loaner for a few days and it worked fine.. My wife drives a 2024 countryman and it works in hers (all be it in a regular USB port as opposed to the USB C in the 2025).
I know the drive is good as I tested it on two computers and it worked great.. Let me know if you know anything.
Is there a setting for it?

Thanks for the response but I do not use Apple Car Play. Yes it on there but I have a Samsung (S22 Ultra 5 G) android and yes that is connected along with Alexa by Amazon.. If there is a way to Disconnect Apple Car Play, I am not seeing it. Or could it be one of the others?

It's not CP. I had my USB drive work perfectly for two weeks until it was not seen, the USB option would show but not the tree of files. I tried both USB C ports etc. I tried other drives and nothing. So I reformatted the drive in EXFAT and it has worked flawlessly ever since. Since this is an Android based system and you use Android I imagine you use Windows so it's perplexing why you would have this issue. I would reformat your drive and reload your music.
I have exhausted everything I can think of on my end. I know the ports are live as they will charge my phone via a cable but do not work for data. I have tried several USB drives formatted in different ways. I even tried it using the guest profile like we were on in the loaner (which worked perfectly). I disabled Alexa, Apple car play and Android Auto. I have tried several different USB devices and all of them work fine in my wife's car (2024 Countryman) but not mine. It is like the ports are only setup for charging (which I know the two in the back are) and not data as they just don't recognize any drive.
Any ideas? Or is this something I should be contacting the dealer about?

I wish the infotainment manual was at least posted on MINI USA as the owners manual references it for exact specifications of the ports. Like I said something happened on mine when it was booting and I saw a brief message about CP but my M3 will say do you want CP to play media but strictly leaves the USB port alone as you cannot even do wired CP in it. I did what I suggested to you, I reformatted and copied the music over and it works. One last question and thing to try, did you keep the name of the drive the same every time? I did and I changed it on the last attempt and it worked. Not sure if it was coincidence or had something to do with the memory of the name being in the system cache or not. Annoying for sure. The dealer will probably plug in a disc and it will work has always been my luck. Try the renaming and report back.
I will try that. Right now it is called Now Music. I will change it to just Music and see if that does anything. So to sum up. Name - Music and formatted to EXFAT.
