The VIN for our 2025 JCW Countryman, which we got mid July, starts: WMZ33G....
The VIN for my wife's new 4-dr, which is on the way to the port at Long Beach, starts: WMW53G....
Does this info help with anything you want to know?

Hardware is different between DAPP and DAP, no software activation possible without hardware retrofit.

What is the software version of your car? The software version of my Countryman U25 JCW is 03/2024.57. Is that the latest software?

I have a quick question from the other side of the Atlantic. Since yesterday, I've been the owner of a new MINI Countryman U25 Electric E version with one front engine(I believe it's an Europe-only version) John Cooper Works with a Harman Kardon music system. The specifications list 12 speakers, 360 watts, and a 7-channel equalizer. However, I'm slightly disappointed with this Harman Kardon system; the sound quality was much better in my previous BMW I4 M50, which also featured a Harman Kardon system. Moreover, I can only locate seven speakers inside the car: two in each front door (4), one in each rear door (2), and the subwoofer inside the dashboard (1), making a visible total of 7. Does anybody know where the other five might be?

MINI U25 HK system has 10 speakers - look under the front seats for the woofers.

Many thanks for the reply. Things are now more clear, but still I can´t find two speakers. This is the specs of the HK sound system taken from the UK MiNI web page (the same contents of the other european webpages) : "Indulge in an unparalleled listening experience in your MINI. Harman Kardon and MINI designers and acoustic experts have worked together to fill the interior of your MINI with a balanced sound that will captivate you and your passengers. With a generous 365 Watt output, 7-band equaliaer and 12 perfectly positioned high*performance speakers, music of all kinds and the spoken word can be enjoyed to the full from every seat. The powerful central bass, natural*sounding mid-tones and sharp, crystal-clear treble ensure depth and clarity so you can appreciate musical subtleties down to the most nuanced perceptible detail"
I can find only 10 of the 12. Still a little disappointed with the sound quality

The U11 HK system has 12 speakers, the U25 HK system has 10 speakers; the U25 has no rear door tweeters, the U11 does. Looks like MINI did a bad "copy and paste" of the HK system specifications from the U11 to the U25; this is not unusual.

My U25 Countryman JCW software is: 03/2024.40...which I certainly hope gets updated soon to fix its glitches and anomalies.
BTW, gbriel - where are you located....UK maybe or elsewhere? (you might notice I'm in Colorado in the U.S.)

Traffic Light and Sign Warnings

Went to my local MINI dealership several weeks ago to start learning the various menu options and took a screen shot of this one. Have had my car for a few days now (only config option not chosen was active driving assistant pro) but can't find this screen anywhere. Anyone have this or know where to find it?

Best.... Steve

Hello Steve from Ohio . . . Regarding your question about the "Traffic Light and Sign Warning" screen - please check P. 194 in your MINI Owner's Manual . . .

Happy Motoring, Daniel

Daniel, appreciate the response. Been to that menu multiple times - I have 8 icons showing up, Traffic Light should be 9. Dealer is suggesting I do a full reset. Did that once right after I got the car (screwed up a profile) but nothing showed up. Hesitant to do it again since there is a lot of configuration that needs to be done. I think there is a way to save the configuration and setup to a key - have to look into that.
Best... Steve

While I don't have this issue (yet), I feel for you. MINI USA suggests resetting the system for every problem I've encountered (many). It never resolves anything and it is a huge time suck to reconfigure settings for two drivers.

This system is not ready for general release and I think it actually presents added risk to occupant safety.

I have a new problem with 2025 JCW Countryman, when I shut off engine the interactive screen and interior lights and radio won't turn off. I have waited 15 minutes and they are still on. Did a reset to shut everything off but that only fixes it temporarily. I have to reset every time I leave the car. Regretting purchase.

Dealer contacted tech support and found the answer as to why I don't have the traffic light warning feature. It is part of the comfort max package that gives you the self drive feature, I have the comfort plus package. Was not worth the extra $900 for Max since I would probably never have used it. I think MINI did a poor job of providing info to dealers of what features are in each package, aside from the highlights. Aside from the obvious physical and technical differences, there is so much not in this car that we have gotten used to. No garage door opener, no compass, rear wiper blade can't be lifted up to clean windows, back seats do not slide forward anymore. Probably more that I have not found yet. Voice commands (for me) so far have been a joke - virtually nothing is understood, change radio station, etc. Some work nicely - turn drivers heated set on, for example. Even saying "Help commands" comes back empty. Anyone find a listing yet of what the car understands?
Best... Steve

Stop Sale....and OS9

I've been wondering, does that mean your new Countryman will be affected by the Stop Sale....or did it avoid the issue be being taken care of at the factory? (Sorry if this seems like a 'dense' question!)
For what it's worth, I checked the VIN for my wife's new 4-dr (which disembarked the Phoenix Leader in Port Hueneme, California last week) and it's apparently not subject to the Stop Sale. So, we're happy about that!
And....hopefully yours and hers will have an improved version of the OS9, so they don't have the glitches and anomalies we're experiencing with our new U25 JCW Countryman.

My car was hit by the Stop Sale at Bremerhaven, two weeks for the repairs at port then shipped to US. It should not have any more work done at Brunswick before transport to dealer.
