can 2019 countryman roof rails be removed from the outside?
I took a 2019 Countryman ALL4 JCW to a car wrap company to see if they could wrap its red roof in white to satisfy my wife's requirement for a blue and white Countryman and not its current blue and red color combo, and the wrap expert said it would be cost prohibitive because his folks did not like to remove headliners and that would be required to remove the roof rails. I've search the net and the archives here and have not found any videos or discussions on how to remove the roof rails. Must the headliner be taken down to remove them? or can they be removed from the outside?
OK, thanks for the information, Guys. Unfortunately that means no countryman JCW as my wife's driver this time. She hated the Chili Red on Island-Blue and would only let me buy it for her if I could make it White on Blue like this picture that ChatGPT did for me.
I was still tempted to pursue the cost of having the top painted because I liked driving it that much, but I see it has been removed from CarTime's web site (although it is still on FB Markeyplace listed in Centerton) so someone must have decided to live with the Chili Red on Island Blue.
BTW, my wife said she wanted a newer, smaller, brighter color, easier to drive, car with adequate back seats and shiny wheels to replace her 2010 silver Honda Odyssey Touring ("definitely no silver or gray", she said) but then when I took the Countryman back to the lot, she drooled over a 2020 Hyundai Palisade that was as large or larger than her Odyssey and was GRAY. Go Figure. The rules keep changing. That first year Palisade had a number of problems including stinky imitation leather head rests, so I am not giving up on Countrymen just yet.
I had the roof wrapped on my dearly departed R60 and there was never any discussion about removing the rails. I would shop around for another company who will wrap it without removing the rails. Those firms can wrap around just about anything! :-)

We were looking for a JCW last year and one of the things we really wanted was a red roof/mirrors. We ended up getting a white roof, because everything else about the car was exactly what we wanted. I would trade roof color with you if I could We did have the mirrors painted as that was a simple change.
