Roof Rails and Box Recommendations

Looking for roof rack bar recommendations along with a storage box that's cost efficient but still lots of space and secure to the vehicle.
I do have the raised side rails on my 2021 Countryman S All4. Thank you all!

I’m not sure if the oem version is different between r and f. The Amazon link i sent is for the f60 i believe and there’s no shipping (if you have prime of course)

but i think in general crossbars are indeed different because of you aftermarket, like OMAC for instance. It’s a different product if you have an R vs an F

Yes, I would not swap. Its always something little that sets them apart or they would just use the same part number, last time i looked at the rail the contour was different.

What is the height of the countryman w/factory rails and box?
Thinking about this setup for my 2024 Countryman that's in transit.

I'm not a fan of the MINI crossbars. They're quite a bit taller than they need to be. I use the Thule Wingbar Evo system which are quiet, sit lower on the roof rails, and have the advantage of being portable across other vehicles with the change of the fit kit. I also think that their roof boxes are better to look at, are very easy to remove (ratcheting claws) and are also portable across other vehicles.

Dont have the total height but its maybe a good ~3 feet add on. They do the rack like that to clear the sunroof if opened.

Yeah. The factory crossbars do look unnecessarily tall on the F60, likely because MINI tried to use it across models. These same crossbars are used on the F54 Clubman which doesn't have raised roof rails. I'll take a look at the Thule! Thanks for the info!

Roof rail choice

The other thing to think about is how much you might want to carry. If you want to carry wide things then the MINI OEM bars are quite narrow. The aftermarket ones are wider. For example, two whitewater kayaks will not fit side by side on a MINI roof rail but should on an aftermarket one.

If it’s just for the roof box then this won’t be an issue for you.
